Not sure if you are aware of this but C.J is second on the team in recieving and tied for first on the team with Nook for recieving tds. He's legit plus Griff and Anderson, TE is not a need position unless Griff (FA) walks
Yeah, CJ is fine at TE. No reason to rush to replace or add to that group. We have about 17 more pressing needs.
Some news on Wade Phillips back in 2013(didn't know where else to post this) http://mail.walterfootball.com/seniorbowl2017rumors.php
I completely disagree with you and rezdawg. He is legit but I think his ceiling is a good #2 type TE. Good blocker, gets open occasionally, good in the redzone....but he is not a chain mover or dynamic threat in the pass game and has shown very little to believe otherwise. Other than that, we have a guy who is probably going to get some offers out there in Griffin and a 2nd year UDFA who made more special teams plays than receptions. So, a more dynamic receiving option...especially someone to work over the middle is absolutely a necessity here.
Looks like Elway trying to talk down anyone that leaves the Broncos yet again. If the report was true, Kubiak wouldn't have wanted Wade in Denver
I dont think the argument is that CJ is a stud. It's that we are grossly deficient in other areas, moreso than at TE...addressing the TE spot ahead of OL, or QB, or S, etc... doesnt make much sense. An upgraded CJ wouldnt have done anything for us this past season, whereas an upgraded Brock, Mumphery, Clark, etc... would have done much more.
You buried the lead, a qb room with Watson, Savage and Cutler next season would be entertaining to say the least.
Fair enough but I do think getting someone to work the midfield is pretty essential to this offense right? If another OD is sitting there in the 4th round that would be fantastic but they desperately need someone with speed and overall athleticism at TE1. Otherwise it's guys who don't specialize in getting open trying to catch passes outside the hashes from a guy who doesn't specialize in accuracy lol... A real slot receiver would just be amazing too. RB2....geez, basically any offensive pick is a good pick. The one thing the defense needs is a S/LB hybrid who can cover TEs. Offense needs one of everything lol And for me, QB is just so far beyond need it's not even funny but we live in the real world....and in that real world Bob McNair owns the Texans and Brock Osweiler makes 19 million dollars next year. So, you know, deep breaths and puckered buttholes. Get ready for season 2 of "God Damnit! A Football Tale" starring Brock O. Brocko's Modern Life lol...
Osweiler being the starter next season is unacceptable IMO. I would rather the team give an entire year's work to Savage or a mid-round rookie, Osweiler is just that bad. Keep him on as the backup next year and then good riddance.
The most logical idea is to go after Romo. Or you use one of your high draft picks on a QB to compete for the starting job. Brock Osweilier needs to be put on notice ASAP. This team is too close to competing for a championship to have it wasted on God awful QB play AGAIN.
why is romo getting any mention whatsoever? Has anybody spent more time on the injured list than romo? Come on that's like one of maybe 2 or 3 QBs that would actually be worse than osweiler. Deep breaths and puckered buttholes. Y'all need to start getting over it now lol
More mock draft madness. Go ahead and mock it. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...mock-draft-deshaun-watson-goes-no-1-to-browns 1.25 Garett Bolles, OT Utah 2.57 Justin Evans, S Texas A&M 3.89 Jerod Evans, QB Virginia Tech
Don't know much about Jerod Evans, but looking at his highlights, the man likes the deep ball which could make Fuller a bit more involved.
What don't you understand is that the Texans CANNOT afford Romo with their Cap situation? LOL. Brock will be on the team...but he won't be the starter.
Good point and it doesn't seem like Wade has that type of personality. That said, of course I'm not in the locker room to know.
