What can Trump do to unite the country vs. divide?

Good point. In some cases, yes, and definitely once elected. Obama did, for better or worse. All the way back to Kennedy's "Ask not what..." line. But there is a question of degree, right? I've never seen a major-party politician scapegoat everyone but white America the way Trump has. Can't think of a close second in the last 40 years, probably not since George Wallace?

The message that Mexican immigrants, the Chinese, the "elites" (read other politicians, professors, and actors, probably Jews as well), and (dark-skinned) inner-city gangs are the cause of all your problems and you just need to stay on your couch and await your glorious well-paid manufacturing job to reappear by MAGA magic is threadbare but pretty typical of authoritarian tendencies, IMHO.

Whatever. I'm convinced this is the president America has richly earned and that the Loud Yam is just the logical result of a decades-long process. God bless us all.
