Who was that talentless white stiff we used to play a lot during the Yao/Tmac era?

i dont remember padgett or boki being defensive stoppers. padgett was awful boki was ok.

i do remember ryan bowen doing a good job on a prime dirk aka one of the best players in history. i wouldnt call him talentless. the 4 on 5 offense was talentless though.

the only talentless ****-asian stiffs on this team i remember are jake tsakalidis and scott padgett. novak was a good shooter at the time but the coaches were too stupid or stubborn to use him.

The stiffest and whitest Rocket of all time has to go to Chuck Nevitt. His only real talents were being 7' 5" and how he rocked an amazing pornstache. He also gave us one of the greatest quotes of all time when he said "My sister is expecting a baby and I don't know if I'm going to be an aunt or an uncle."

I thought it was Jon Barry who was "The Germinator" back in 2005?

No, he just coined the term. I think it was given to Ryan Bowen.

No, you're allowed to be racist against Asians on Clutchfans. "All Jeremy Lin fans are still dog-eating trash" - you know who.

You're 'allowed' to have free speech on Clutchfans. It just depends on how much flaming and blowback you get for saying something racist/stupid. TinMac gets called out constantly for his schtick. Those 100 page threads of empty arguing aren't just Tinman alone. He receives fuel for his fire.

It's 2017 and people haven't learned to stop feeding trolls.

In memoriam: "Flyin" Ryan Bowen. AKA: the Dirk Stopper!

    http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2006/10/was-it-a-good-preseason/

Ryan Bowen was waived by the Rockets, and after reading blog responses the past few months, I feel safe in assuming most of you probably will not consider this to be a great loss.

That's a shame. Bowen ought to be a fan favorite.

No one, absolutely no one, plays harder. That is not a matter of choice as if you or I could choose to play so hard for a million bucks. We could not even think of ways to hustle in the moments he actually beat opponents to loose balls or down the floor. That's a tough thing to do. On winning teams, it is celebrated. But the Rockets were a losing team. And though Bowen was never much of a shooter, he was not the poor shooter we saw last season, either.

He played injured and in pain and his own stats suffered for it. I mentioned his hip injury a few times in print, but he always asked me not to and refused to say much about it. He played last season with a torn hip labrum. I don't think I could make toast with a torn hip labrum. But he played because so many teammates could not.

It was a lousy season and a guy that deserved better got kicked around because of it. The Rockets needed his roster spot and Friday's move was probably inevitable, but it's not something to celebrate.
