I feel like this series has become like 24, always trying to out do the previous seasons. Im not a big fan of episode 3. The first couple seasons was about the great chase. Now it feels like a great 1 1/2 hour full of pointless filler. We will likely see a new president before we see season 5...which will probably be the final.
Just finished it. I think the show is done. That was one of my least favorite episodes of any of the seasons and I see no reason for the show to continue.
agreed it was awful. The main villain was terrible and uninteresting. What they did with Moriarty was lame Spoiler Moriarty's final, big, posthumous plan was what? to make some videos of him going 'tick tock'? Moriarty didn't even help Eros escape.
The show runners have already plotted the entire next season fwiw. And Sherlock is one of the BBC's top rated dramas. Benedict Cumberbatch is a hot property so finding time in his schedule to shoot the next season will be the long pole in the tent.
Episode 2 setup for a great episode 3. Episode 3 reminded me of last years Rockets. They could have done so much more with her. I am surprised Cumberbatch and Martin let it sink this low. I thought they had always portrayed Moriarty terribly. Irene Adler was great. Spoiler What I gathered was Moriarty was nothing more than Eurus puppet the entire time. While I love creative writing, this was garbage. The combined 10 minutes of Morierty's flashbacks and videos was just annoying
I dont think he was her puppet. Just a respected acquaintance with similar goals. 5 minutes worth of video recordings does not a slave make.
Paul McGuigan who directed the best episodes in series 1 and 2 left before season 3 started. Coincidence? I think not.
This episode was again crap for reasons you guys said above. A big problem is the extreme emotional play: it's happening in every episode and in almost every event. The acting is not what drew me to the show, it's everything else. Now the acting is the focus and it's boring. The fun part of this show was: - manipulating old stories to work in today's world - watching the outlandish and brashness of the deductions, with evidence - the comedy - fast pace with actions to tell the story All four aspects are lacking now, with personal attachments driving stories instead of the cases, weaker evidence on deductions, one liner comedy, and people talking to advance the story: both directing and writing issues. I'd be fine if they stopped writing to connect all these poor episodes together, to make it seem "clever", and went back to case work.
There were only three episodes, or did I miss one? Anyway from the opening of the first episode, looks like I need to rewatch the previous season first.
Four seasons comprising of 3 episodes each. There was a single holiday episode at the beginning of last year. For a total of 13. You wont miss anything if you skip the first season although it was the best. Some speculate the show is done. The show has pretty much jumped the shark. Its best if they end it.
This season really wasn't as bad as you guys say it was. It wasn't as great as say, the first two seasons, but even being half as it good as it once was... it's still better than marjority of what's out there today.
