This b*stard quietly approved new laws that continue to erode the privacy of the American people. A nice welcome gift from Trump I suppose. What a lying, piece of ****, schmuck obama is. I wonder what other last minute gut punches this m'fer will implement. http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/...on-relaxes-rules-on-nsa-intelligence-sharing/
Intelligent and honest unlike baracka big brother. this b*stard lied to everyone about bringing change. i guess for baracka big brother change meant more, so we got more lying, more spying, more drone attacks (he holds the world record), more spending, more etc... and before anyone tries to blame gop for stopping him it's still his fault for overpromising and under delivering. also these outgoing orders he's signing, as fast as a pro athlete signs autographs, are all on him.
The rule has been ANTICIPATED for a year. Right there in your link. Now, as far as the rule itself... If the NSA has it (started under Bush and even after Snowden's reveals, Congress made some changes but allow it to continue), why would other agencies not? I don't have a problem with it. I have stated for years that our agencies having access to these data only for specific anti-terrorism purposes is fine and it's a balance between security and privacy that I accept. The move has been anticipated for a year—The New York Times reported on the draft proposal back in February 2016—but in mid-December Director of National Intelligence James Clapper approved the new rules, which will amend Reagan-era executive order 12333, and last week Attorney General Loretta Lynch finally signed off on them as well. Congressional approval was not necessary to implement the changes. Several agencies already have access to the NSA’s raw data under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). These new rules don’t change who has access to FISA data, but they allow national security analysts to access communications made over satellite transmission, as well as phone calls, e-mails that cross international borders, and e-mails that are sent between foreigners that pass through American networks. Analysts from other agencies may “search the raw data using an American’s identifying information only for the purpose of foreign intelligence or counterintelligence investigations,” according to the Times.
Nothing about Obama. I stated clearly my preference and also point out that this was anticipated. Perhaps you can stay on points, instead of useless personal attack?
i didn't mean as an attack from me sorry, i meant obmaa was attacking your butthole. back to obama dicking America shall we.
I share your concern, ipaman. But I don't think personalizing it to make it seem like this is all about Obama being Big Brother accurately reflects the scope what is going on. His decision is part of a larger cultural trend in politics and society that finds it acceptable to increasingly sacrifice the privacy of individuals for ostensibly security purposes.
This does suck. It's not just Obama; it's a terrible trend. Obama is also the Drone King. I voted for him. But the things that pass for "liberal" these days are like George Bush Sr.
This is not a big deal to me. Its something I assumed already happened and its something that will eventually happen. Further, all the agencies (and local law enforcement) have been intruding on Americans privacy for some time now. The reality is that Americans are not that free.
Freedom in the 21st century is certainly a different notion than freedom in the past in my opinion. I think this is a good move frankly. We have a labyrinth of intelligence and law enforcement agencies, this would help them share information. A better move would be to consolidate agencies in my opinion, too much waste and inefficiencies.
Do you earnestly think Trump would have the insight or backbone to curtail intelligence sharing or suggest a meaningful alternative to law enforcement. You supported the one guy too dumb or egotistical to understand anything well enough to change it, and you will probably waste the next four years calling everyone sodomites each of the hundreds of times Trump's idiocy is exposed.
Thread not about trump but no I think the machine will control trump as well. I do have hope though since he is unconventional. Obama broke promises and became a servant.
Lol.... Not a good idea bringing up broken promises and being a servant being a trump supporter. You still got hope Trump will release his taxes like he said he would after the audit? Lololol
