Very true, usually its the family who wants justice when a crime is committed. Who in this case is seeking justice?

 

We don't know how down they were when it first began. I wonder if her thoughts were "I hope your parents don't mind this because if they don't, I am in trouble".

 

The state? This would create a huge loophole that every offender would try to use. I could imagine payouts/bribes by the offenders to the families saying that they agreed with it. Many families would choose the money over the predator going to jail.

That's exactly my problem with it. I generally am against the government stepping in, but when it comes to stepping in to protect children it's a bit different than getting involved with something between adults. I'm all for being lenient with requirements but there has to be a standard.

When you say the law should be enforced equally, you are implicitly arguing that a man and woman are doing the same thing to/with the victim when they have sex with them.

I think it can be argued that the physical act of a man having sex with a girl is clearly different than than a woman having sex with a boy. And so if it is the act that's being criminalizes, why should both acts be treated the same under law?
