Back when this happened, right-wingers described as the media growing a spine... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...finally-shows-some-spine.175969/#post-4822752
Love it. Obama's CRITICISM of Fox News is heralded as Nixonesque by the right on this board. He didn't even ever shun them at a presser. So what did they make Trump? What's even more revealing in that thread is how the left leaning posters partially agreed and admonished Obama then. Shows which side are truly cheerleaders.
The point is not that CNN is all too powerful or has huge viewers. This is the President-Elect picking school yard fights with reporters. Let that sink into your mind. The POTUS attacking members of the press. We have reached a new low. This is why even the craziest of Republicans agreed Trump is unfit to be President with this kind of temperament. Trump will soon learn the stupidity of this move as President when he needs to frame his agenda and his administration is bogged down by constant hostility towards the press. Ratings whores like CNN want nothing more than a circus and he is giving it to them. Yes, but Trump calling "fake news" to the network that created him by giving him non-stop coverage and unlimited airtime, is pure hypocrisy. Was it 'fake news" when Trump made the rounds of CNN every day for the past year or so? Was it "fake news" when he called in for daily interviews? Trump calling CNN "fake news" discredits no one but himself. He is the product of "fake news" and his presidency will be forever remembered by it. I'm not predicting his demise at the hands of CNN. Today it's CNN, tomorrow it will be Fox News, or NBC, or The New York Times. or someone else. Trump constantly picking fights with reporters and journalists will ultimately sink his presidency. During the elections Trump was trying to win voters. Now, they have voted and gone back to their stupor. All that is left is him and the media. For a narcissist this will destroy him. He wants to be admired yet he is turning openly hostile towards those who shape the broader narratives in society.
Thanks and good question. It doesn't look good right now, but humans are very adaptable, so I am hopeful. It's almost like we suddenly grew a sixth sense and it is overwhelming our brains. We're nearly "snow blind" with info streams right now, but in time, we'll figure it out. I just don't know how much time that will involve or what shape our world will be in by then.
Almost all News is in the Entertainment part of the network categories. It was them moving to the entertainment portion that caused the downfall of news Rocket River
So how is making jokes about Fox News and small quips about them equivalent to conpelty shutting then out in a presser? Fox News strikes again with their false equivalencies.
When did Fox News ever try to shout Obama down during one of his press conferences? If someone from Fox had done so, you all would have wanted Fox banned. What should be done here is the individual reporter should be banned from the press conferences - permanently - in order to set the example for any other reporter who is tempted to engage in these sorts of spectacularly rude, offensive and inappropriate behaviors.
Oh brother. Reporters at a press conference shouting out questions to a President (or any other politician)? And there have been numerous examples of Fox inappropriate (mis)reporting of Obama in the past already posted in this thread. Ironically, a Fox news host has already spoken out in support of the CNN reporter: http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-brief...-journalist-should-be-subjected-to-belittling The Columbia School of Journalism commented on the harm caused by Trump's behavior at the press conference: http://www.cjr.org/covering_trump/trump_reporter_question_press_conference_cnn.php
Embarrassing? You're just a mean ol grinch. Nothing melts the heart than cuddling up to a praying mantis.
Donald Trump obviously can't handle our free press unless that free press is giving him a journalistic blow job, and we're supposed to respect this guy? I have to laugh.
Look at a Putin press conference. That's how our press conferences are going to look like in 2 years. See all those signs? Those are all media outlets that are begging for Putin to answer their questions that he has ignored for years. He only asks staged journalists who are part of his propaganda arm. That's Trump in 2 years.
Interrupting the president-elect for 30 seconds is perfectly fine. CNN deserves our respect. Their integrity is unquestionable.
"historic...draws the masses" vs "clogs the nation's capital" I'm glad the media is getting exposed, they've been bad and need a timeout.
