Sure... but if his brain tells him to throw it sooner (as most elite QB's have that sort of recognition), it doesn't really matter. Likewise, even short/compact delivery QB's will make plenty of mistakes if they can't recognize how plays develop. Its what instantly impressed me about Savage over Brock.... his ability to get the throw out before the receiver makes his break or gets open.
I didn't. Giving up 17 points in less than 3 full quarters is not on pace with the teams that beat the Pats in the playoffs over the last 20 years.....other than one by a team that had a prime Peyton Manning to run up the score. We can't expect our offense to be that good, so the defense has to keep the Pats under 21. If they manage to hold them to only a few more points in the entire game, I'll say that they did their job well enough to win.
