Following 4 post...... As for Rick Smith as a GM. Is he the greatest..? No. However......Rick Smith's weakness in the draft has really been the 3rd round of the draft. However, his first rounds are maybe the best in the league. Also, he has a knack for finding Undrafted FAs that contribute (Arian Foster, anyone?). 9 of the 10 first rounders drafted by Rick Smith.......ARE STILL ON THE TEXANS and are key players. 2013 is probably his worst draft. 2014 may turnout to be his Best. Note: Head Coaches and D-Coordinators have big say in players picks (Wade Phillips lobbied for JJ Watt). Head Coaches probably have final say.....although this is unclear. Rick Smith is fine. People focus on the QB because it is the hardest position to find. How many team continue to look for QBs for YEARS. The Colts got lucky.......sucking in the right year, as did the Titans. Look at other teams........the high rate of Bust of drafting QBs high. Hell, The Raiders have been looking for YEARS before Carr (DeMarcus Russell, anyone?).
Yay hopefully godsey will still be the offensive coordinator. I couldn't handle a high octane offense at my age.
Yet all three teams are currently doing worse than the Texans. Everyone thought the Colts would dominate the division once they got Luck yet the Texans have won more division titles as the Colts with Luck.
They're suggesting we could get the Colts first rounder or more? I really like BOB, but I think we have to make that deal.
either fire Bill O'Brien and hire Kyle Shanahan, or demand O'Brien hire an OC the offensive playcalling is amateur hour
Play calling was good tonight. I want to ask you this though. What happened when the playbook was opened up or aired out? 3 bad interceptions.
Not sure what you mean since you 'definitely' don't know who built this roster. I know you hope with all your heart that it was BOB so you can blame him for something, but you just don't know. This doesn't even begin to address the fact that 'building the offensive roster' in NE basically means lucking into Tom Brady.
