Thank you! Although no one will remember my posts about him. I think he would be a great fit on this team. He's not a big game changer or anything but he would bring a lot of positives to the roster. He's tall and has range for a big man and has had some games where he's shown he can score. A trade for him and Randy Foye is what I'd like to see, and Brooklyn is one team that is in need of picks so they would be willing to talk trade. I'm not a huge Foye fan or anything but he's a vet in the case we have an injury in our backcourt. And Hamilton has us covered if we have an injury in our frontcourt.
Cool. I wrote him off last season but now I am warmed up to the idea of his return, and I would've never seen that coming! Part of the problem is I didn't understand exactly what the issue was with the team. Now that I know it was Dwight, that changes things.
Considering Chandler's contract (years), I don't think a 1st needs to be relinquished to obtain him. The Suns would likely be fine salary dumping him.
A reasonable trade would be KJ + Onuaku + a pick for Justin Hamilton and Foye (I know the idea of getting rid of Onuaku hurts but the Nets would need another big man in return and he is quite similar to Capela only years behind.) and since is clutchfans I should post a trade that will most definitely not happen though I would like to and one that most would hate because of losing Dekker but: KJ + Dekker + Onuaku + Wiltjer + a pick for Justin Hamilton + Randy Foye + Bojan Bogdanovic Harden / Bev / Foye Bev / EG / Bogdonavic Ariza / Bogdanovic / Brewer Andersen / Harrell Capela / Hamilton / Nene Foye will only see minutes if any of our guards are injured. Nene and Hamilton will depend on match up and game
@steddinotayto I agree profusely and I believe I laid out that exact deal you just did maybe a dozen or more pages back. Tyson chandler is a perfect fit for this team outside his contract length, not even his salary per year. If he could even just make his last year partially guaranteed that would just be icing on the cake.
We really should see if the Lakers are willing to part with N. Young or L. Williams since they won't make the playoffs anyway and aren't going anywhere. I would give up KJ and a second to have N.Young as our 4th guard in a heartbeat, or L. Williams as well. We need more 3 point shooters on our second unit, and either of those guys fit....along with anyone else in the league that shoots above 37% 3pointers.
I didn't see that exact post of yours but I know we've been on the same page re: Chandler for a while now. I just couldn't connect the dots with what Codman posted. Of course he could mean players on the Hawks and/or Pelicans when he's talking about freebirds but it looks too perfect of a match not to be Chandler.
Codman does have "ears" (as he puts it) in Phoenix, and perhaps in Denver (thanks to his friendship with Nene), so either of those teams might be a possibility. He talks about a center who might not appear to be a great fit and probably not very athletic and feels like he was thrown over or misled by management (Chandler? Nurkic? Bogut?) Even then, the "Free Birds" reference does lead us to think about the Pelicans and Hawks, as ya'll often mention.
The thing about riddles is it's up to interpretation. It could mean grabbing someone from Russia, ala Beverley that no one sees coming. But man Tyson and barbosa would be perfect fits (even better if we could do anything similar tonlawson with Tyson) for this team. Even if it meant swallowing Tyson's entire contract. Price should be cheap but with significant reward without disturbing chemistry but rather adding quality vets to the nucleus.
I too agree that Chandler/Barbosa would be great for us! But with Harrell & Nene playing pretty well, I'm wondering how the minutes would work out. The problem with those guys, and even Capela when he comes back, they aren't good rebounders. In a perfect world I'd say Capela/ Chandler get all the minutes at center, Anderson/ Harrell get all the power forward minutes. Nene sits.
Dwight Howard played "Cold Turkey" in the kids movie, "Free Birds." http://deadline.com/2013/06/lakers-star-dwight-howard-joins-relativityreel-fx-pic-free-birds-519722/ Dwight gets waived. Old School game. Comes back to Rockets. Happy Days.
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/n...mong-14-potential-steals-on-the-trade-market/ I really don't think anyone is taking Brewer off our hands without us throwing in our 1st round pick. For that reason, I don't see us including it in any trade that doesn't include him (since we may need to hold onto it in order to move Brewer at a later date). That said, I would say we would be dealing from a pool of KJ, Onuaku, Ennis, Brewer (possibly Decker) and picks in order to not upset the rotation. Any names on that list That may be an under the radar move that we would have a realistic shot at?
I think everyone likes the names on the list. Noel is a number 1 target for me; but I feel the price is too high for the Rockets. Koufos costs Brewer & as you said the Rockets want to use a 1st on moving guys if Durant wants to join Harden this summer. WCS salary can be matched w/KJ salary; but will the Kings accept 2nd rounders? Jokic isn't bad & salary is nice.....listed on site as 280 lbs. That's not ideal for a team pushing pace. Useful vs big centers; as he is still young and can run the court x 20 mins if need be. Edited later: the other center with Denver is 280 lbs. I need to get them sorted out. Nurkic is 280 lbs. (The one rumored to be on the market).
I agree that perhaps getting Hamilton and also Foye would be good for this team. I hope we would not have to trade anyone in the rotation given how well the team is doing. I am worried about the playoffs where we could probably face the Thunder or Grizzlies or the Jazz which have some imposing bigs. Another guy to consider is Richaun Holmes of 76ers who was sent to the D-League because of the logjam at center for that team.
This works. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=z8oy6pl or this: http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zqvjqzt
I wouldn't expect any big trades from Morey right now. Someone like Noel we just don't have the pieces for. With that being said if we really want to do something this year in the playoffs we need another big and another scorer at the SF\SG position. Holmes and Casspi would be ideal targets. Fit the system and need and both could be had for cheap.
