Listening to people defend Westbrook for MVP makes me shake my head.. it makes little sense.

Westbrook is a MVP worthy consideration but not over Harden in my estimation.

Skip backing Westbrook is just him taking a contrarian point of view for the sake of a debate. Fine.

Sauces brought some nice facts to the table in support of Harden. Good stuff.

I know people will be butthurt about it, but Westbrook winning the MVP would not be a crime just like Curry wasn't. The inconsistency in logic bothers me, but in either case I don't see any shame in Harden finishing second to either guy.

I think this likely will be a year as well where if Harden did win the MVP, the players choice MVP would go to someone else.

It would be a crime if Houston finishes 2nd and OKC 7th.

It's funny to hear people say Harden has a better team as an argument as to why Westbrook is more deserving.

Before the season if you had asked these so called analysts who they would rather have on their team between Adams/Capela, Kanter/Anderson, or Gordon/Oladipo. I'm almost positive a majority if not all would have chosen the OKC players. Vegas even had OKC projected to be a higher seed than the Rockets.

Yet all of a sudden Harden has better players around him when before the season started that wasn't the case.

Harden just makes his teammates that much better. Period.

Not only that, but they also keep bringing up Dantoni's system inflating stats...Outside of assists has there been that much of a change between this season and last?

They keep changing the MVP requirements to fit their narrative. Hopefully we keep winning and have a deep playoff run, I've already made peace with Harden not winning the MVP. Also, he'll also be lucky to make 1st team all nba :/

2015 - Curry having a stellar year on a better team than Houston - he should be the MVP; ergo Rocket's record is the reason
2017 - Westbrook having a stellar year on a worse team than Houston - he should be the MVP; ergo record doesn't matter
The media has made up its mind before this season started. Simple as that - that's why they keep repeating the same narrative in spite of the undeniable year Harden is having.

I don't really watch FS1 at all, but they have really been siding with Harden with legitimate arguments. Broussard with extra sauces in this one. These are clutchfans.net arguments. Never heard any onscreen talent with the same amount of insight we type furiously here say it on tv.

If Broussard isn't careful, he's going to become my favorite.

Mark Cuban on MVP: "If it would end today, as much as I hate the Rockets, I would vote for [James] Harden."

That's it, just give the trophy to him now.

You know what the funny part about it is?

Harden's biggest defenders are Stephen A Smith, Broussard, and Barkley...before the season if you were to ask Rockets fans which talking heads they hated the most it would definitely be those 3.

Adding to that article regarding the narrative I do believe the media likely feels a little shame at this point given the ridicule I've seen put out by the ex-players who are now part of the media of Harden not making an all NBA team last year. This is their opportunity for a do-over.

Usually MVP goes to top 2 seed.

Cowherd seemed way more enthusiastic about Harden's "new" mindset that focuses on making his teammates better and being better to build a team around than Broussard. That was my impression.
