According to this ESPN article, Allen Iverson is among a bunch of former NBA players who have signed on to play in Ice Cube's new 3-on-3 league. Others: Kenyon Martin, Chauncey Billups and Stephen Jackson, Rashard Lewis, Jermaine O'Neal, ex-NBA guard Jason Williams, Mike Bibby and Bonzi Wells. "Iverson will be a player-coach and former NBA stars Gary Payton and George Gervin have committed to serve as coaches for three of the league's eight teams." I'm thinking these games will be more like the old All-Star game between retired players every year. Kind of fun, but not competitive at all. But hey, Bouncy Whales!
I hope this league has staying power. I will definitely tune in. Lack of basketball over the summer always sucks.
Lulz, no Twitter handle for Clyde. Hopefully he's not too busy playing golf to show up. I'm sure he will this time, since this is definitely more important than UH athletics.
1-1, or 3-3 is quite boring live, that's been proven, no matter how big the stars, however, what would be interesting to watch is if they put a 1-1 tournament of the biggest stars on the big screen with movie production, editing, and cinematography. If just live they have to gain a rooting interest so making it like Houston Rockets 3 vs. Kentucky Wildcats 3 makes it rootable.
