I discovered that having BtheG on ignore helped my D&D experience. Not a great deal, as there are several just like him (just not as verbose), but it did make this forum more bearable. My ignore list has been expanding recently. It really makes for a groovier experience.
Good job kid, create that echo chamber so you can feel like everyone agrees with you......only to get dick slapped by reality when something like Trump winning the presidency happens and you don't see it coming. Clearly you didn't learn anything and you'll continue to be laughably out of touch with where the country is at.
More of a difference than that. One argued in court that they deserve to be able to lie and manipulate facts to their viewers and the other has not tried to do that.
So one made the argument and the other just does it.....really not a difference. They are two sides of the same coin.
Don't put in the place of trying to defend CNN's news coverage, which I'm not comfortable doing. Sadly as bad as they are they aren't the same as Fox News.
Well, I'm thinking that you think that simply because their bias is more similar to your own which makes it harder for you to see when it happens. I mean, we're talking about the same CNN that edited film of a woman urging rioters to head to "white people's neighborhoods" and burn them down into something suggesting that she was calling for peace....there's just thousands of examples of CNN's bias just as there are examples of Fox News' bias. Fortunately neither Fox News or CNN are as bad as MSNBC or Brietbart. But if we're honest, you can point to completely embarrassing things that both CNN and Fox News are guilty of. These days there's no such thing as good journalism anymore (if there ever was), you just have to decide which biased account you prefer and exactly how biased you want it.
CNN mad. Really really mad. Maybe they have a right to be, I haven't followed this story. But, they really really mad. I find it rather humorous, since I've come to dislike all the 24hr news networks. But, they really mad.
Well, you have to expect them to be. I mean, not only did their candidate lose the election which came as a massive shock to them, but also that means that their time as the favored network of the white house has come to an end and they are having to deal with the same unacceptable BS that Fox News had to deal with when Obama was elected. That's plenty of reason to be mad.
It has nothing to do with the bias of either. It has to do with one organization that pretends to be a news organization arguing in court for their right to lie and twist stories for their audience. The supposed news organization hasn't argued that in a court of law. In practice there isn't really that much difference between the two organizations. But with CNN they aren't arguing that their horrible standard of journalism is their intent. Maybe it just happened by some series of horrible decisions and $$. Fox is arguing that their horrible standard of journalism is indeed their intent, and they mean to be as horrible and inaccurate as they are. It was what they wanted and what they've succeeded in doing. Neither of those is good, but one is worse.
LOL, so exactly as I said, in practice they are exactly the same. The only real difference is that one leans left and one leans right.
Yes I did as in a large and well-established news company that has survived good times and bad times. wtf is your problem?
How many links would you like me to present showing the NYT leans left in its biased coverage? Christ, its own editor admitted it... Assuming you concede this, since when is a known, left leaning organization considered "Blue Chip"? THAT is my problem.
most major news organizations lean left that's no secret. but at least nyt won't do what cnn and buzzfeed did. they don't go that far yet... regarding blue chip status, nyt is like 165 years old. they've won the most pulitzer prizes of all time. it's the most (maybe 2nd wsj?) circulated newspaper in the world. it literally is the standard of newspapers in our country. they've practically covered every major story in our countries modern history.
Age and history really have no bearing on what that organization is today or standards. If a media outlet consistently refuses to report all sides of an issue in an attempt to support one political persuasion over another, that is no longer journalism...that is propaganda. This is effectively what the NYT...a once great institution of journalism...has become.
