Here's a tidbit worth noting to appreciate the immense success of the season thus far: After tonight's win -- regardless of the outcome of tomorrow's game versus Minnesota -- this 2016-17 squad has earned the most wins through 41 games in franchise history.* * - Currently tied with 1993-94 and 1996-97 with 31 wins through 41 games with the chance to surpass those squads tomorrow. A few more notes about this team and the other two seasons: The 1993-94 team (58-24) got off to a hot start at 15-0, stretching it to 22-1. They eventually pushed it to 28-5 before losing four in a row in January '94 1993-94 season saw winning streaks of 15 games, 7 games and 6 games The 1996-97 (57-25) team also started hot at 21-2, before enduring their own 4-game losing streak in December '96. Later, right after the season midpoint in late January, that team endured a 6-game losing streak 1996-97 saw winning streaks of 9 games and three 6-game winning streaks throughout the season This 2016-17 squad has gone 25-4 in their last 29 games after a 6-5 start. '16'17 has seen a 10-game winning streak as well as the current 9-game streak Through their first 40 games the 2016-17 squad has not lost back-to-back games ('93-94 saw 4 B2B losses in addition to the 4-game losing streak; '96-'97 saw 3 B2B losses in addition to the 6 and 4-game losing streaks) ---- While it's tough to compare results of past seasons to this current year (while balancing expectations), I want to take a moment to appreciate how incredible it's been thus far, particularly compared to last year's disarray. However the rest of the season goes, it's been an awesome ride.
This is definitely the best "1st half of regular season" Rockets team OF ALL TIME. Let's just hope it translates to finishing up the year better than that 93-94 team At the end of the day though, the 73-win warriors proved that the regular season doesn't mean sh----.
Definitely has been an awesome ride so far, thanks for those numbers BTW. Just hoping to improve our defense even more for a strong playoff run.
Let this sink in, folks: One game before the halfway point in the season, we are 2.5 games behind the #1 spot in the league. "D'Antoni is the worst coaching hire EVER! / Morey must go! / Le$ is cheap!" my ass.
Thank you MDA, Morey, Les for this spectacular red meth they call the Rockets. Heisenberg ain't got **** on you guys. Thank you Harden for an MVP year. Exceeding my expectations and then some, a true dude in his own right. Thank you Gordon and Anderson, you guys were the two best signings of the offseason. ****, Durant. Thank you Bev and Trev, you guys really tie the room together like old duders rug did before it got peed on. Thank you to the bench brigade, and Capela (get well soon), Harrell, OMGWTFBBQ. I like BBQ, so thanks. Thank you to the Mavs and Mark Cuban for the free wins. That's not a very good team you guys have over there. But, most of all, I want to thank Clutch and everyone here at Clutchfans for what is truly shaping up to be an amazing journey and the dude loves each and every one of you. We really do have a great fanbase and since joining this site I have to say everyone here (even BBholic) have made me appreciate this. Peace, and smoke on Clutchfans.
7 am here in brazil and another happy morning after watching the game! This team is so much better than last years, it's unbelievable. Who would have thought!!!!!
