But it will be Rick and Bob deciding who the next coach is

Well what are we looking at:
    Bills
    Chargers
    Jags (but now filled)
    Rams

Other firings might come... Bears (Fox probably gets another year), Bengals might finally move on from Marvin Lewis.

In any case, its not exactly super comforting to be the top in that group. And finding a coach is never a problem, its a super coveted position... got to find a really good one.

Chargers might still be the top destination anyway. Rivers is older... but that QB position is so vital, and its what the Texans don't have and the Chargers do.

In any case, it seems pretty unlikely O'brien isn't coaching the Texans next year.

Denver is still the most attractive.

Oops forgot about them. Definitely more attractive.

When it comes to Denver, I think they could be set to fall off pretty far if they can't keep Wade Phillips around. That defense is all they have and while they will always have one amazing piece in Von Miller, I'm not sure that it has the upside the Texans defense does. In fact, I'm pretty sure it doesn't, so I would think Houston would still be seen as the most attractive spot for any head coach......not that it matters because BOB isn't going anywhere.

Guess we'll see, Baby Shan might have his pick of either if BO'B leaves Houston.

He's never been a head coach at any sort of level... and he wouldn't necessarily get to devote the time he spends on the offense now once he's in charge of everything.

I think any team considering hiring him has to keep that in mind. Even Kubiak had more skins on the wall, as a former player... and SB winning coordinator.

This reminds me of the ol' Steve Martin bit about the secret to becoming a millionaire and never paying taxes... You.. can be a millionaire.. and never pay taxes! You can be a millionaire.. and never pay taxes! You say.. "Steve.. how can I be a millionaire.. and never pay taxes?" First.. get a million dollars....

Not surprising but it is pretty disappointing. IMO it's the best reason I've heard yet to fire BOB.

    Not a big deal

It's just the playoffs. Who cares about distractions?

O'Brien should be fired just for this. What an imbecile

While it's predictable, I think the QB carousel and signing Brock sight-unseen is what's prompted BOB to do this. It's gotta be frustrating to have a good team fall short because the GM has never been able to fill the most important roster spot.

There may be some question about who picked Brock, but Hoyer, Mallett and Savage have all been "handpicked" by OBrien. Not necessarily to be franchise quarterbacks, but they are guys HE wanted on the roster.
