[Jan 9, 2017] Pablo Prigioni announces retirement Excerpts from Pablo Prigioni's retirement announcement: "My head and my body are completely in agreement that now is the moment. I am retiring from professional basketball. "It has been a marvelous journey. With so many infinitely good things that they totally cover up any bad moments that you also pass through in this precious sport. "I want to thank all the clubs that I have played with for having trusted in me. I leave with a sense of calm in knowing that I have done my best for each one of those teams. "Baskonia deserves its own paragraph. It's very obvious that my feelings for this club are very strong and very deep. I grew and I became a player with this jersey, and that's why having put it on once again now has been something wonderful for me. GRACIAS!!!! I would love to be able to give you more. But I am going to keep with me everything good that I have lived through in this great city!" "Basketball, I'll always miss you!!!!!!"
Thank you Pablo for giving us a couple of years when we needed him to be a solid playmaker when bev went down
I remember when I was doing time in the pen and was watching him against the Clippers in the 2015 playoffs and I was like damnn this guy is good.
Aha yes towards the end of my sentence. I got locked up after the Rockets won Game 5 against the Blazers in 2014, then I couldn't watch Game 6 for obvious reasons because there was only a TV in the common room. The next morning I tuned in Sportscenter and saw in the bottom feeds that we lost by one I was so mad. The thing is, I didn't know we got bounced because Lillard hit a game winner. I only found out more than a year later when I was transferred to another facility...That was the bright side, I didn't get to see that heartbreaking moment live..
the sad part is you are right, a man retiring from the game of basketball due to old age, is better than our emergency backup pg
I will never forget his part in the comeback against the Clippers. He always gave everything he had when he was on the court.
