Eric Gordon is questionable for Tuesday's game against Charlotte with a sprained left big toe. Calvin Watkins, ESPN Staff Writer
Take Charlotte and Minnesota off on rest. Come back heeled and ready for Memphis Friday. (especially since I'll be at the game)
Wonder if this has affected those shooting percentages. I thought he was just maybe getting midseason tired legs (could be a combination of the two, although he was bound to come back down to earth a little bit). Get well, EG! We need you! (God knows KJ McD ain't getting your minutes.)
Nnnnooooooooo!!!!!! Don't let Ego drive to the basket anymore; just make him sit out past the 3 point line and jack up shots until we get to the playoffs! I'm only kidding of course but let's hope this isn't anything serious. I'm for resting him these next few games. We can afford to do that so we can have a healthy squad come playoff time
The whole team, including some bench warmers that never get to play (hi KJ) will need to step up. EG is that unique and important in leading the bench brigade. Tremendous loss of firepower here folks!
They'll need to make up his 18 PPG from Anderson, Bev(who's been scoring pretty well since returning), Ariza, and Harden being more aggressive with his shot. Of course, that's assuming Gordon sits out. He had that sprained ankle last month against the Celtics and then was right back there in the lineup the next game.
You just get scared because small injuries turn out to be big injuries when it comes to Gordon. I'm really just thankful he lasted this long.
For superstitious reasons, did Clutch set a filter to remove the word "Injury" or "injured" from any thread titles starting with "Eric Gordon" ... strange thread title, imo
I also want to add I trust MDA as a coach. I think he will find some one or some game plan that will mitigate Gordon missing in the rotation (if he misses a game). He found a way to replace Capela without playing Nene big minutes, he found a way to replace Bev without tanking the season. Harden is playing the least amount of minutes in years because MDA trusts his own coaching abilities. He relies on Harden a great deal, but doesn't necessarily use him as a crutch the way Mchale did.
I jinxed the last injury thread.. that was my bad. I still think "injury" should be in the title.... for consistency.
It's fine. The league is too easy, let's make it a bit of a challenge for the next 2 games. Also, a sprained toe can definitely affect your shooting because it affects your balance.
I would also have to think a sprained toe would affect Gordon's "start and stop" drives to the basket. He is pretty explosive on those drives when he is committed to them, so a sprained toe could affect that.
Well, if EG is out, he is out. Next man up, whoever that may be. Run the system, it is a good one. Trust your teammates and have faith in the coaching staff as per Dreamshook.
