Time for a trade to make the Rockets better. I love my boy Capela, but they need to get better. KJ McDaniels + Capela, and a First round pick for Ibaka? Then they should trade Corey Brewer and a second round pick for a solid back up, point guard that fits really well for Mike D'Antoni's system.
Denver gets millsap/kj Houston gets Wilson chandler/muscala Atlanta gets nurkic/brewer/hou1st/den1st/por2nd
That's what I'm talking about buddy. I think we need to give strong considerations to make this move happen. I'm more inclined to shop Dekker or Harrell rather than Capella. I think there is greater need for Rim protection and rebounds.
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=za7sw62 Morey could trick off a second or the rights to Gentile to get it done
I've been thinking this very thing today. While I love the energy, growth and willingness to just fit in by Dekker and Harrell, it may be time to sell high in order to upgrade. I do not have anyone in mind coming back to the Rockets, I'll leave that up to Morey. I just think it's about time to upgrade.
Live Gary Harris. He's given our MVP some trouble a time or two. Great defender. Insurance for Beverley.
You can't trade that much for a rental. Plus Ibaka is baby Dwight. He wants the ball in the post to go to work. If he would go back to being young Ibaka again where he's a better version of Capela, I'd be more interested. But I don't like his development into wanting to be a focal point.
I'd be willing to throw a 1st round pick into the deal to make this one happen. Wish we had the room to add Jameer Nelson to this deal too.
Ive been pushing for the Rockets to get Augustin for several years. His stats are good for all that Houston likes to do. Clean house of Ennis & B. Brown.
On what planet would Denver move two players meaningfully better than the two players they are getting, while getting negligible salary cap relief? Not happening.
I don't mind his wanting to be a focal point or even drifting more outside offensively. I do mind the fact that he's become a worse and worse rebounder and defender and just a softer player overall. The fact he's a rental is the biggest indictment. I think at this point trading either of Capela/Harrel for an Ibaka type is trying to take a shortcut that won't work. Happy to move one of those guys, for something better in return, but otherwise I think their skills, and depth of having them both, make them more valuable. I don't see DM moving any significant assets unless it nets you a clear top 25 type guy on a workable contract.
The Rockets first will be like pick 27 or 28. Not that enticing. Thats a pick a Euro and stash spot... some GM's hate those real late first round picks, as its cap space for a guy that is likely to not be great. Gentile/Llull are pipe dreams. More Llull as Gentile might eventually come over but its hard to put much value on those guys. Wilson Chandler shoots 34% from three, can rebound some, assist some, play some defense and is probably underpaid at this point, though he is starting to get up there in age. Jokic's upside has supplanted Nurkic's but he is still a valuable young big.
Dunleavy has been on the Rockets radar for years. Lowry, Dragic, NeNe, Ariza, Bosh are all guys the Rockets have pursued over and over again. Not saying you are wrong; but can you explain in your opinion? I just know the Rockets liked his size and 3 point shooting ability in the past. Rockets tend to chase a guy until they get him.
He can pass, run the floor, defend, is sneaky dirty and can hit 3's. He can even run the point for short periods of time.
