    It's strange when people try and deny scientific data.

    When you are told a thousand time that weather <> climate and you still insist on using weather, and not just weather but one day of it.... you don't care about learning or understanding, but to stick to your belief. It's the mindset of willful ignorant.

    Global warming is obviously true since winter has been mild in Texas.

    Just a brief primer to help people understand the warmists better:

    Summer = Man-made climate change
    Winter = Just weather

    I guess we won't see some posters when it's high 70s later this week.

    I also hope you know that increased warm temperatures leads to warmer oceans which leads to more stored potential total energy and thus more acculmation for precipitation which leads to more percjpation whether it be rain, sleet or snow.

    Global warming models predicted an uptick in winter storms. That's what happens when you have more potential energy.

    Global warming models predict everything. Record high heat waves, record low winters, mild summers, mild winters, snow in the middle east, floods in texas, fewer but more intense hurricanes, no hurricanes at all, ect ..

    To the global warming zealots, everything is proof of global warming and man needs to change their sinful ways ... all while they sit in their 3000sqft house and drive big trucks and SUVs.

    I think there's too much focus on the temperatures changes resulting from the global warming trend -- which individually feel insignificant and are therefore easily dismissed by people politically opposed to necessary policy changes -- rather than the environmental consequences that pose tremendous ecological and economic damage.

    It's evident that quoting stats like "the average temperature was 1 degree higher this year" isn't going sway many people on the importance of this issue, if they are unaware of the other ramifications.

    If people only had a more tangible understanding of how much more kinetic energy an increase in one degree in global average temperature results in.

    Higher standards in stem education could go miles. How many people know what temperature actually means? It would do wonders to how they understand global warming.

    It doesn't matter. It's like the tobacco industry sandbagging well after undeniable certainty with uncertainty and doubt on the public forum.

    In this case, they know they're running up the score like what finance did during and after the mortgage bubble burst but they have no problem with the public cleaning up their mess by shamelessly inviting moral hazard.

    After all, we're just as complicit, and we are.

    Don't understand the generalizations. I don't know anyone that owns a 3,000 sqft house, or drives big trucks or SUVs in my immediate family or even among friends. I have friends that own trucks that they need for their job since they do trades but that's understandable. Last time I read threads like these, you had even global climate change deniers admit to global warming and have backtracked to how bad can global warming really be?

    Admitting or denying global warming fixes nothing. We shouldn't be arguing over whether or not we should be cutting our emissions based on fears of global warming, we should do it because we need to preserve our planet, global warming or not. I do not believe we should be levying taxes based on fear tactics. I am supportive of taxing business and people who use excessive amounts of dirty energy IF it will reduce the consumption.

    I live in a one bedroom apartment and drive an electric car. Am I allowed to "believe" in global warming?

    There are still assholes out there that don't believe that there is some form of climate change/global warming?

    I thought they all went the way of the Creationists and people that won't get on a plane because "If God wanted us to fly, he would have given us wings".

    Seriously, I thought this was just a political football being tossed around to satisfy a few folks with mental disorders and corporations that are scared they will be held accountable for the cost of negative externalities.
