What a sad state of conversation it is to use that type of deceit.

Thank you for posting that extensive analysis of the situation. This does provide an evidence based analysis of how Russia intended to influence the election and steps they took to do so.

It doesn't now demonstrate what if any effect it actually had on the election but that isn't really the biggest issue.

What is odd is that people will keep pretending this evidence based analysis doesn't exist, and keep going with their own zero-evidence-based conspiracy theories.

Again it's as if a football team's offensive unit is actively rooting against the defensive unit of their team hoping the opposing team scores 70 points against them in order to be able to give them a hard time at practice after they lose the game.

It makes no sense that both offensive and defensive units of the team aren't working together against the opposing team even if they do go against each other in practice.

Let's just move past the election for a second. Email accounting constitutes a felony in criminal court. The fact that a foreign government deiberetly broke a very serious and enforced law is a big deal. The guy that "hacked" the Astros got 4 years in prison.

How is this different than the breakin to the DNC office at the watergate hotel?

You are right, but some people have a desire to bash political opponents at a higher priority than the United States, laws, or anything else apparently.

Let's also be clear that this is not just the CIA. The declassified report is a joint report with the same conclusion from the CIA, FBI, and NSA - Russia was clearly trying to sway the election to Trump. It's not business as usual as past attempts to discredit democracy and to obtain information on new elected leaders. And that they will continue to do so in future elections, swaying it to the candidate that they want, now that they saw the result of their investment.

So, do we ignore it, let it continue (China and others are looking), or deal with it.

The Trump answer is to obfuscate domestically and reward Putin/Russia with hopes that they will continue to assist them retain power.

That is the world we now live in.

It looks like most people from both Democrats and Republican parties are willing to do something about it, and make sure there are repercussions for it. There are a few extremists who will ignore the evidence and do what they can to deny it, minimize it, or try and turn it against people with different political views.

We are fortunate that these folks are in the extremist minority. Their dangerous and harmful outlook on this isn't held by the mainstream and most Americans.

It's so weird how Democrats change when their party is attacked.

This was their talking points not too long ago and now if you don't want to push for cold war tactics over the DNC getting hacked you are considered part of an "extremist minority".

And he was either wrong/playing politics, ignorant of Russia's cyber/propaganda capabilities, or it wasn't a problem 4 years ago.

Right. The U.S. tried for a reset with Russia. Putin blamed the U.S. for civil unrest in his nation, and has undertaken hostile aggressive moves. So it makes sense that the attitude in regards to diplomacy would change.

That was true before the Russian espionage attempt to undermine the democracy of the United States. When that happened, it also makes sense that the diplomatic stance regarding Russia would change again.

You pointing out conditions years ago doesn't really show anything other than how sensible the U.S. has been in reacting to the moves of Russia.

And yes, those who want to excuse these espionage attempts, ignore them, pretend they didn't happen are an extremist minority. That makes sense. We've seen plenty of evidence to show what Russia and Putin did.

Can we presume that the silence by RocketsLegend, sugrlndkid, Space Ghost, Mojo Man, ipaman, Realjad, and others are that were so sure it was all a conspiracy, and that there was no evidence the Russians were behind it means that they now agree with our intel agencies?

    If not, I'm curious why?

Do we agree with what, precisely? What exactly are you asking here?

Do you agree that Russia tried to interfere with the democracy of the United States, and that it isn't some conspiracy created by Obama, intel agencies, Republican congressmen, the media and whoever else? And actually agreeing with that, there is some sort of retribution that is appropriate so as not to give other nations like China the idea that is okay to further hack and interfere with U.S. interests?

Something I said before: this was personal beef between Putin and Clinton.

Oh no, how terrible. Russia is just as Islamophobic as Trump.

Democrats should think about putting the US first. First above their party and first above their bizarre dream of open borders with Salafi Arabia.

A post without relation to reality. Both Democrats and most Republicans are putting their country first above party in going against Russia for interfering with the election. There is also no dream of open borders nor policy of open borders with any nation including Saudi Arabia.

Only Jason Bourne can mess with the CIA so much - this won't end well.

This is a Barack Obama production. He is out in two weeks. Don't be surprised to see the CIA and the intelligence community change their tune in a pretty spectacular fashion shortly thereafter.
