I hate him so damn much myself. But if we won the championship because he stopped other teams bigs from getting offensive rebounds and got our 3 point shooters more open looks, I would have to forgive his big ugly ignant azz and just be happy partying on Richmond again!!! (probably at a strip club this time) :D

when draymond green runs into a bogut screen it'd be like bad karma and all the negativity in the world from opposite ends cancelling each other out. the rockets need to trade for bogut to win a championship and for world peace.

Look, Bogut could be the last piece we need for a championship. This is not even debatable. This teams chemistry is sooo strong we can bring him in. Do it. Do it now.

A Capella / Bogut combo at C would be lethal. MDA knows when to start a burly vet and when to run them into the ground with Capella or Harrell.

What rules are you thinking of?

I can't think of any rule preventing Dallas to trade back to GSW, other than salary-matching. I doubt they would cut him, since his expiring has some value. Although for summer capspace, it wouldn't make a difference if they cut or let it expire.

Even if they cut him, I can' think of a rule preventing GSW from signing him, but he'd first have to clear waivers. There is a rule that you can't trade someone for 30-days after signing him off waivers, but that wouldn't apply here.

The Rockets and Bogut don't really like each other but we need each other. I personally don't want him but I would pull the trigger if he's cheap. I'd give them a future 2nd round pick with some protections.

    CBA FAQ #100
A team cannot reacquire a player they traded away during that season (a season being July 1 - June 30). If he is waived by his new team, then he cannot re-sign with his original team until the one-year anniversary of the trade, or until the July 1 following the end of his contract, whichever comes first.

Bring him on. I don't think he would ruin chemistry. What I got from his quotes is that he doesn't mind coming off the bench if they are winning. But being on the bench and loosing is a different animal. He would bring some much needed size and grit to this team. Exactly what we need at the moment and will need in the playoff.

There is a problem with getting Bogut.....they are called Nene and Harrell. Those guys have played important roles for us to get to where we are today. Nene took a paycut to come play here. So while we don't "owe" them anything, perception can be important, especially with Morey. If we brought in Bogut, once Capela is healthy, it's likely a Capela/Bogut Center position all the time; with Nene and Harrell getting VERY spot or garbage minutes.

Then, you don't want to trade either of them to a bottom feeding team after them being on a great winning team like ours. Sure, Morey could do it in the interest of what is best for the team, but it's the perception that may count...especially considering that Bogut would most likely only be here for the rest of this season and not beyond.

Ultimately, I think if Dallas would take Brewer, KJ and/or Ennis and a 2nd round pick, if I'm Morey, I do this in a heartbeat. But what I wouldn't do after that is to trade Nene or Harrell, even though we would have a log jam at Center. Then I would just look to move whomever wasn't moved in that trade our of KJ or Ennis, cause Brewer would have to be for salary; along with a 1st round pick for another Guard preferably, or wing if it's a better player that we can get. Then I think you go into the playoffs and see what all this team has and can do, and if you don't win it all this year, you are still in position in the off season to make the changes necessary to make that last step.....WE ARE CLOSE!

    Final 2016/2017 Roster:

    Harden/Bev/(Chalmers/Holiday/Evans/Young/etc. type player)
    Bev/Gordon/(Hardaway Jr/etc....type player)
    Ariza/Dekker/(
    Ryno/Dekker/Harrell
    Capela/Bogut/Nene/Harrell

If you add one more player to the players in bold who would definitely be in the playoff rotation for significant minutes, then you have a championship contender to compete with the Warriors, Spurs and Cavs IMHO. I would like another G, would love Young or Williams from the Lakers to run on the second unit with Bev, so that Gordon can start with Harden! If we could find another easy to get wing insurance player to get also, we would be set and maybe the deepest team for the playoffs!

I'm thinking that Nene is about what gives him the best chance to win a ring. He would still play, just less and dependent on the matchups.

I'm thinking Harrell knows his role and understands this is about the team.

    • A team cannot reacquire a player they traded away during that season (a season being July 1 - June 30). If he is waived by his new team, then he cannot re-sign with his original team until the one-year anniversary of the trade, or until the July 1 following the end of his contract, whichever comes first. However, if a team trades a player's draft rights, they can reacquire the player during the same season.
It was done in the last cba because years ago, people used to trade a player, he'd get waived then re-sign after 30 days with the original team.
