From Zach Lowe via ESPN Radio.

The Atlanta Hawks traded their first round pick which became Jerian Grant in 2015 to the New York Knicks for Tim Hardaway Jr.

A season and a half later, the Hawks are interested in trading Hardaway before he hits restricted free agency this summer.

"They're already shopping Tim Hardaway for second round picks because they don't want to pay him," said Lowe.

Hardaway is averaging 11.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 21.9 minutes per game this season for the Hawks.

The Hawks have already traded Kyle Korver and they're now also shopping Paul Millsap.

if they want to go for the lottery I think it's better to play Dwight than to sit him.

He's actually playing well but he's a (restricted) free agent this summer, eh...

A second round pick for a rental? Normally I'd say yes, but I don't know where he'd fit in the rotation, take Brewer's minutes I guess. Still worth giving it a shot IMO

Well he's a restricted free agent so he's not a rental, and his cap holds should be pretty low too...but you have to be willing to pay/match this summer.

Given his age and talent (and our aforementioned crowded backcourt) I doubt we'd match whatever he gets over the summer. I could see a few teams given him a decent chunk of change (Brooklyn immediately coming to my mind).

DO IT. He isn't that good, in fact I think he is overrated, but he is a clear upgrade over Ennis

This is where i kinda agree with you...tbh i think less teams will have cap space to throw away for a player like Hardaway this summer, but you never know...it takes just one team, and speaking about the Nets yeah, they were ready to pay almost 20x for Crabbe so...

The Rockets are in win-now mode and THJ pwns Tyler Ennis so absolutely you do this if you can.
