How do we start a open the roof campaign? 45 and sunny sounds like a great day for open air football.
I thinking couple pick sixes by the defense by saying I don't think the defense will let us lose this game I meant their gonna do the scoring for us to heck ya!!!
Can't wait for this game. Really don't see any hope for the Texans if they advance to the 2nd round, but ready to get this game over with.
In the buffalo bills next to last regular season game at home vs the dolphins, with no playoffs to look forward to, the fans at almost full capacity cheered and stood up for their team until the final dagger was driven through by Ajayi. The negativity towards this team by some of its own fans and local radio experts is just as dreadful as the quarterback play. Makes me question why houston even deserves to have a team. Awe I can't circle jerk at the water cooler because we don't have a Qb that throws the forward pass! Boohoo. Yeah it sucks that there was no instant Replay when the Refs sided with the steelers. It sucks that warren moon turned out to be a choke artist in the playoffs. It sucks schaubie lost his arm over night. It sucks that the new coaching staff stalled on addressing the position. It's playoff football. If you can't enjoy it, I don't know what to say. Four teams will be done after Sunday including a couple with 'elite' qbs. Was it over when Germany invaded France?
In my opinion this mentality contributes to the local teams flaming out. The fans, the local media, have this imminent doom mentality in Houston that eventually spreads and infects the coaches and players who proceed to doubt and flame out. But the fans and media fail to realize it started with them. I also hate local fans who support outsiders more than there own. If we think our team sucks how in the hell can we not expect the national media to think the same. And yet we get pissed when they do? I had this same argument during JJ Watt MVP talk. So many Houston sports fans were saying nah, he's not a QB, he's not LT, etc... These are the folks that watch him closely every game. Those same people complained when he didn't do better nationally with folks that don't watch him as closely. WTF!
AMEN TO THIS... people constantly crap on the Texans. I'll take our 4 division titles in 6 years. Would it be awesome to be a Packers fan? Pats fan? Steelers fan? Seahawks fan? Probably... but we could also have been born and raised fans of the Browns, Chargers, Lions, Rams, Dolphins... I could go on. We have a lot to be happy about.
even those teams had decades of not being mediocre but awful. I believe it was "Red foreman(that70sshow) who said, "god will it kill you to give the packers a winning season?" seahawks wins from 1985 to 2004.....8,10,9,9,7,9,7,2,6,6,8,7,8,8,9,6,9,7, 10,9 that's 20 seasons before the football gods stepped in
Exactly! Look at the 49ers... dominant in the 80's and early 90's. A mess in the 2000's. About 4 years of success including a super bowl appearance in the 2010's. Brand new stadium about to open with the Super Bowl coming to town. They were among the league's best 3 seasons ago. Now they're a 2-win team with an apathetic fan base and the worst field in the game (thanks for bumping us!) and they're about to hire their 3rd coach in as many years. This is an absolutely toxic organization now. Same with the Colts. When Pagano was out with his cancer treatments and Arians was leading them to the playoffs, they were considered one of the leagues "elite" franchises. Their lone year of poor results netted them "the savior." That was just a few years ago... they're an absolute mess now. We should appreciate what we have. It could be a helluva lot worse, and things can get ugly QUICK in the NFL.
I couldn't agree more. Honestly I don't think Houston deserves a team given how terrible the fans are in general. Fortunately it's a big enough city to where even with the vast majority being awful, there are still enough good fans to make it profitable to stay here. What city with good fans would be b****ing and moaning about 4 division titles in 6 years? I mean, the Raiders are just making their first playoff appearance in 15 years.... When it comes to "elite QB's, half of the leagues top 10 QB's are sitting at home right now planning vacations because they didn't make the playoffs.....and yet the Texans are playing a playoff home game. I wonder some times if Texans fans would be happy having an "elite" QB on a scrub team like the Saints have dealt with the last 3 years. Since they think the QB position is all that matters, I'm sure they could convince themselves that was better than how the Texans have it now.
I haven't watched all of the Texans games this year, but the ones I have, it's been pretty clear that Hopkins hasn't played at all like he has the last 2 years. Perhaps he's still salty from not getting the contract extension he wanted at the start of the year.
I think that's exactly what the problem was. Fortunately he's been a bit better of late though so maybe he's turning it around.
He actually has player pretty well. PFF gives him a good grade this year. His stats suck because Brock sucks. Better stats with Savage.
I won't argue that Brock isn't a good QB or that his accuracy is quite poor, but if he doesn't have his most reliable receiver catching/creating separation to help his QB, there's not much else that Brock can do while throwing to him. His other bone headed picks he's thrown... no arguments there.
