He would NOT be a perfect fit because he does not rebound as well as Trez

You absolutely evaluate individual players on whether their team won or lost.

I actually don't think that that's the case at all - the media are not going to change their minds after this game...if anything, I think that some people on here will now think that Russ > Harden, based off this game because Russ was feeling it - well until about halfway through the 4th quarter anyway (I think he was 1-5 FG to close out the game).

I can also guarantee that people on here would kill Harden if he kept chucking quick 3 after 3 without even looking for his teammates on consecutive possessions or multiple times a game.

At the end of the day, the season is still young - lots can still happen in the MVP race. Both guys are putting up incredible stats and either guy is a threat to do something historic on any given night. And both guys should be in the conversation to take home the award.

Russ is an athletic freak and had a great scoring game today. He is just relentless, sometimes to the detriment of his team

Harden is one smooth offensive maestro. He just plays efficient and smart basketball (well most of the time anyway :)). It's just beautiful to watch. I think in a few months he will be even better at finding that balance between being aggressive and looking for his shot and setting up his teammates.

He would be a big in the middle to shut down Kanter, his post defense was very good, he was a great rotator, and always played big with his hands up...he would help a lot.

But, we get Capela back we are good again....and I like that guy at the Vipers......the underhanded FT shooter...he will be decent some day.

Just want to say that the same people who are bashing Harden and praising Westbrook off of tonight's game in this thread are the same ones who would be bashing Harden and praising Westbrook if you reversed the outcome and the 4th quarter production.

Star player on the bench, bench players wipe out a huge deficit in the 4th, star comes back in and goes hero ball bricking multiple bad shots and costing his team a chance to win despite the opponent not playing well. That describes Russ in the 4th and he's the hero to some here? Harden has that same 4th quarter and he gets KILLED in here.

The worst defensive rebounder for his size in the league who hasn't played in the NBA in almost a year and who refused to report, and now lives in the Pelican bench behind Terrence Jones?

Or Josh Smith? That's who you mean, right?

What do you mean not a good rebounder? Did you forget his boxout +/-?

Most valuable. Not the most scorable. Westbrook could have scored 90. What's the point if your team loses.

I know we just won the game, we all should be happy for the victory.
But just found this: Game 1 VS Thunders, we were up 10 points near the end of Q3, and we let them get back in the game and lost by 2 at the end. Game 2, we were up 12 points around 7 mins left in the game, we let them get back in the game and only won by 3 at the end. Game 3, we were up by 16 points at one point and let them get back in the game and only won by 2 at the end. We had several games which we won at a decent amount in the Q3, suddenly we just dont play defense anymore and let the opponent got back in the game. If we can't improve on this, it might come back and harm us in the playoff.

Oh cool, so you're saying Harden already has an MVP award from 2015 cause it's not about record it's about individual performance. Nice.

joomba, like the media, have already set the narrative. They want Westbrook to be MVP. If Harden won the individual battle but lost the game, the narrative would be that Westbrook is a winner. If WB wins the individual battle and harden wins the game, it's the individual battle that counts. The only way out for Harden is to win the game and the individual battle just to prove what he's already proven this season - he is as good individually as Westbrook but a better leader thus far leading an equivalent supporting cast to a better record. The framing is preposterous.

Unless joomba suddenly decided that he knew before the season began that Anderson and Gordon were better than Oladipo, Kanter, Adams. No buddy, it's called being a juggernaut. Call us when WB is going to lead a piss poor roster to 55+ wins for the second time. What WB is doing right now is so Harden circa 2014, we're over it and so is he.

For anyone arguing with this dude, just look at post history. He's one of those people who goes so much out of his way to claim he is unbiased that he ends up an inverse homer. The game had barely started when his Thunder homerism kicked in.

F*ck us for trying to enjoy a win and watching Harden and the team shattering all predictions from the "unbiased" fans and media of other teams.

You discovered this? We all said this during the game. Rebounding was KILLING us and Kanter is almost solely responsible for putting the Thunder back into the game. We obviously aren't going to win big if we don't have our starting center.
