Just said Clutchfans should tune in at 4:15 tomorrow; Morey will be on the show for the first time in 4 years
Hosts talk about what the listeners want to talk about/listen to. And people just want to talk more Texans than Astros or Rockets. It's also easier to talk about things that are going bad than about things that are going well and you can complain a lot more about the Texans than you can the Rockets right now.
You make a valid point, but think about how many people just flat out don't even tune into radio because they know the Rockets get minimal burn unless it's game 7 of a playoff series or a Gameday. I personally have many friends who've given up on both 610 and 790 because of this, but then again, like you mention, I'm sure there's data and polling about what demographics listen to the radio and what said listeners want to hear discussed.
So I decided to listen lately just to see what it was like. So far he isn't as bad as I remember from his previous stint with 610. I wouldn't say it's my favorite radio show or anything, but so far he isn't annoying me like he used to.
Josh just had a fantastic interview with Herm Edwards. Like him or hate him, when he gets into an interview he has an ability to ask questions that tiptoe a line and actually get the guest to give real, passionate answers. Also, Morrrreyyyy at 5:15. The reunion special.
Morey walks in, Innes introduces him, and then Morey immediately b****slaps him and leaves. It was brilliant.
tried to listen online, I see it has been edited out of the podcast, so I wasn't able to hear it. Must have gone really badly for Innes, what a chump, doesn't even have the balls to post the interview
I caught a few minutes of it. He asked morey about hardens defense. Morey said u can do that with any player if you YouTube them but Harden just got criticized the most. Also went into analytical talk and how does he determine a players winning heart and drive. He said every player we go and get has to translate to better this (offense, etc) which in the end equals to wins. Winners have heart. That's basically all I heard. I figured someone would have the full interview posted here by now (
"Some of you have asked about the Morey Interview podcast. I was told to not podcast it by people higher up than myself. It was a great interview and I'd love more people to hear it but unfortunately it will not be podcast". -Josh Innes
