I heard this past week that Atlanta is shopping Millsap with the belief he won't return next year. Not sure what it would take but maybe Anderson and 2 first round picks? As much as I'd hate giving up Anderson I'm sure that's the only way they'd consider parting with Millsap. And even then I'm sure they'd want more, not to mention the hit we'd be taking to our 3 ball and chemistry. And offering anything like Harrell, KJ, 2 first rounders and the rights to Gentile would get us turned away.

Harden - Beverly - Gordon - Anderson - Dekker - Harrel - Capella <---- IMO THESE PLAYERS ARE UNTOUCHABLE

As long as we not trading any of them . . i'd have an interest

I like the idea of Dudley + Barbosa, mainly because they would both fit seemlessly into their roles on this team.

We can't offer a PG more than 10-13 minutes, which is right around where Barbosa is at. Plus, he's a 40% 3 point shooter and has played in MDAs offense.

Dudley is a natural 4 for this offense and we already know he thinks a lot of Harden. Another great shooter and solid defender.

Brewer, KJ and our 2017 1st for Dudley and Barbosa

    Bev
    Harden
    Ariza
    Anderson
    Capela

    Gordon
    Dekker
    Dudley
    Nene/Harrell

Yes Korver moves very well off the ball. He is a solid team defender as well. He won't blow you away with his defense, but he plays smart and that makes up for the quickness he has lost. He can handle the ball a bit as well.

    1) Harden/Bev/Ryno/Capela/Ariza

    2) Gordon/Stauskas/Nene/Nerlens/(sign Dorell Wright to vet minimum....age 32)

Reserves: Harrell/Hollis Thompson...Bobby Brown gets buy-out; hired to be Harden's personal assistant. Inactive: Wiltjer/(re-sign Payton III)/ best D-league SF available...?Quincy Acy?

    Harden/Bev/Gordon/Stauskas .................cover PG duties.
    Harden/Bev/Gordon/Stauskas/Ariza........cover SG duties.
    Ariza/Wright/Thompson............................cover SF duties.
    Ryno/Nene/Harrell.....................................cover PF duties.
    Capela/Noel/Nene/Harrell/Ryno..............cover Center duties.

Thats my "All In". Rockets have my authorization to make this deal work. NOT THAT THEY NEED IT.
If Gerald Henderson can be worked in instead of Stauskas.....then so be it.

We just need the usual.. An athletic big than can defend, rebound, and shoot the occasional 3... D.West 4 years ago would've been great ...

The only subtractions I'd consider to the current chemistry are Brewer, KJ, Ennis and BB. If we can sign a FA Center or PG and use those and a 2nd to add the other piece, then I think we go to war this year and see what happens.

Looking at US players overseas we could consider...

    http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/players-abroad

Steve Blake (PG): Always thought he was a solid all-around players. He's 36 now and playing in Aussie land.

Interesting to see Amare still playing. Wouldn't it be interesting to bring him in to play 10-15 minutes a game. Jason Thompson and Josh are out there as well.

I liked someone mentioning Carlos Delfino. He's got the kind of attitude and versatility that would be great to add to our bench. I wonder if Morey is looking at any of these guys?

No need to go crazy, let all the big names go and nab a serviceable big and PG on expiring deals, while using your pick to clear Brewer. Then use your cap space this offseason on whomever will take your money.

    To Houston
    Leandro Barbosa
    Andrew Bogut

    To Dallas
    Corey Brewer
    HOU 2017 #1

    To Phoenix
    KJ McDaniels

    Playoff Lineups:
    Beverley / Barbosa / Ennis / Brown
    Harden / Gordon
    Ariza / Dekker
    Anderson / Harrel / Wilt
    Capella / / Bogut / Nene / Onuaku

Its never the time to go "all in", that's because the league doesn't end and shut down this season and going "all in" just makes life harder for next season. If you look at Dallas and NYC, the reason they suck today is because they always go "all in" every season.

Realistically speaking, the Rockets only have 1 all-star going against teams with 3 or more all stars. Going all in won't solve the talent gap, rather it would just hurt flexibility and the chance to get a real superstar in the off season. There is almost 0% chance the Rox win a title this season due to the talent gap, going all in might raise that to 5% but that still will just result to a lose in the end.

Don't sell, even if we don't win this year, players that would succeed here will take a discount to play here next year. Just keep winning.

Houston could have a decent crack at it if the teams fresh while others get hit by injury bugs come April. We don't need to make any drastic moves for an all out win this year, we can develop some decent trade chips and go for another superstar as long as hardens still on this team. The playoffs is a different beast and tighter defenses can spell trouble for ball movement, turnover prone teams, heavy 3pt shooting, poor defensive rebounding and James hardens liking for ballhogging come 4th. A defensive big like deandre Jordan would be the perfect fit, imo.

the best way to obtain a star is to develop him from within, any of those you mentioned could be considered highly coveted stars next year(or even this year) from the perspective of other teams depending on how rockets fare this year

Golden State doesn't look as intimidating this year as they did the last two seasons. But, I'm sure they will make a move and somehow end up with another solid bench player. The Rockets need to do the same and I think we need to make a deal with Phoenix and grab Barbossa and Dudley, otherwise we need to add Jarrett Jack or Mario Chalmers who are FA's right now. It would be nice to get an extra big guy but I'm not seeing any who could be had and would make a difference.

Barbosa and Dudley I'm.down for as long as we dont lose Dekker, Harrell and Capela.

    Chalmers if healthy yes please

Jarrett Jack has had nothing left the last few years. No thanks.

But otherwise, I expect a "The Dude Loves Ya" reply

The only untouchable players IMO are Harden, Beverley, & Gordon. If we can get a major upgrade, you do it. I won't worry too much about messing up the chemistry. We can always build a new one. As good as our regular season record is right now, i still don't think this roster (as currently constructed) would be enough to beat the Warriors or even the Spurs in a 7-game series. And if we somehow reach the finals, we won't stand a chance against the Cavs. We need a dominant Power forward or Center similar to what Amar'e was to Nash with the Suns.

We just need to add proven players. I don't want to us to go out for guys with issues like Ty Lawson that could be bought low. We don't need a homerun in this case.

I disagree with this threads whole premise. This team is not close. We would not be favored in at least two rounds. Underdogs don't win in the NBA to that degree. Second you can't count on Anderson or Gordon to stay healthy. I always felt this years team goal was to become competitive to get bigger name FA.

Exactly. Now that we have a plan, a good coach and Harden with the right role the good experienced role players will come for a chance to be in the Finals.
