Someone correct me if I am wrong, but you don't have to pass a physical to be cleared medically to play right? Physicals project into long term as well as short term health, where as medically clear is simply if D-Mo can play without snapping in half or killing himself. Typical of DD and his non-stop b****ing in his idiotic belief that Morey is somehow screwing people over. Morey has been by the book since day one. D-Mo on the other hand is the one who failed to get the offers he wanted in an offseason where teams were handing out absurd contracts like Oprah and failed to get any offer beyond the vet min playing on a team chock full of bigs. If D-Mo is as healthy or skilled as some idiots think he was, we wouldn't have wanted to let him go. Teams would have been trying non-stop to sign him. He's not that good and that's why he is playing for the Pelicans for the vet min. Just pathetic really...
So . . Nets and N.O. = Credible honest folx Houston and Detroit = devious trickster trying to take down poor DMo? Rocket River
Anyone trying to reason with the DMo fanboys deserves whatever misery they find themselves in. These people do not deal in facts; just let them type out their fantastical DMo dreams and move on.
1) So...they made the right decision? Cheaper, better fit with better health. Score one for Morey. 2) Even if DMO is a 13/6 guy (very debatable), he's not giving you nearly the shooting/spacing Anderson provides. Anderson is overpaid, no doubt, but he's been an elite shooter/weapon for us. 3) No disagreement on McHale. But letting a replaceable player like DMo walk in no way jeopardizes Morey's job security. He hasn't lost one second of sleep over DMo.
I would rather pay 20m to someone who is GREAT in something that fit to our system perfectly instead of paying for a person who is average in everything, maybe slightly over average on some area. That's same idea why those 7 fts earn more than the 6ft guards, even the guard might be more skillful than the big man. Because it's easier to find a 6 ft guard than a 7 ft big man who has basketball skills. Anderson is great in terms of opening space for the team which you barely can find the second 6'10 guy who is as good as him. But I can find several replacement in the league for DMo. Example? Nene, even Scola might be as good as DMo. For the McHale story, I am as pissed as you
What about be patient a little bit, in the summer, you might have Ryan and Gordon Hayward or Paul Millsap or Serge Ibaka or the final piece of the championship puzzle? Do you really think adding DMo, you can win it all? Come on....you got some really good choice in the free agent market this summer. Once you commit to DMo, you are locked at least for this summer.
Well we don't have a choice, but I have been around a long time, and I recall thinking Yao's team could eventually get us there, but injuries ended his career. Harden is still young, but every year is another one gone by, he is ready to win now, this TEAM is ready to win now.....so for me, now is the time. These next 3-4 years.....but starting with THIS one. Do I really think DMo is a difference maker - yes - because when teams stop the 3pt parade, Dmo gives us unique post play.....does it guarantee a win, no...but having Dmo is better than having Bobby Brown....so for me, it is always about having more good players....that fit and provide viable alternative options when option A is not working. Either way, it is done - i would take Ibaka for Brewer, Harrel, KJ and a first.... And I got to fill up my ignore list a little bit with this thread, Kids...sheesh! DD
he could give you even more than that in the right system coach etc Yule-C btw when dmo was here Dwight was the postup man and the 2nd star and dmo couldnt be featured in any significant role. I remember a few games when dmo was on the roll and dwight come back from some injury, they continued to feed dmo but only for the first game dwight came back, then it stopped
Except that he had the Nets offer. He signed with the Nets first, Rockets just matched. He and his agent made clear they did want to play here for whatever reason. They bargained and bargained and in the end the Rockets just released him. I choose not to talk about the failed physical, any medical conditions here. Eventually I want to see him on the court with the Pels or another team.
It took the ENTIRE offseason and a quarter of the ACTUAL SEASON for D-Mo to get an offer from the Nets and ultimately, it was a paltry one. A "healthy skilled 7 footer with a post game" does not only get offered less than 10M a year with only a single year guaranteed. When that happens, you know something is off somewhere. If his back is genuinely fine, then its his skills or future projection.
