You shouldn't bang your head on the desk, man. That is not good for you. Instead you should be doing this....
This may be stupid, but what is inherently holding the Rockets back from beating the Cavs/Warriors in the playoffs? I know it comes down to star power, but what are we really getting at? Ultimately, it comes down to consistency. If we play Rockets basketball full throttle I actually think we're better than the Warriors full throttle. This is namely because our system is more productive when only one star player has the ball in his hand and discerns who shoots the basketball. Theoretically, if Curry and Duran and Thompson are hot at the same time, every possession would lead to 3 pointers. But I don't think that works in an actual game given the season so far. Again, I am being optimistic.
I swear to god i hope the Spurs do acquire Rubio. Sure there's a small part of me that is curious if even Pop can make him into a net positive, but in a league where shooting has become the primary skill, trying to turn maybe the worst shooting guard in nba history into something good would be like asking someone to stop the tide. The idea that D'antoni, a guy whose offense is built around a **** ton of pick and roll variations would like a guard where you can go under the screen every single time is mind boggling. To make it even more absurd is comments about the playoffs. Does anyone remember how we guarded Rondo? Harden just did what Kobe did all those years back and sat 10 feet off him, Rubio is somehow, even worse at shooting than Rondo, he would be defended the same way.
Gonna be hard to be as consistent as the Warriros when our second best scorer is Eric Gordon vs Curry or Durant. Then third best is Ariza vs Klay. Fourth is Capela vs Draymond Green?
