These are the moments you remember during championship runs, these are what "the media " will call MVP defining moments and that's because the media only watches highlights of nationally televised games but all in all this is a home game, Pat should be back to annoy Westbrook and hopefully derail his triple-double. You know he's going to get one. When is the last time two players from opposing teams scored triple doubles, anyone know?

Rubio will average 20 assists per game easily, and Harden will triple his scoring output. I know this because I have studied with holic. Please study the stats and history and you too will see the truth.

I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at. Is this post to imply that Westbrook had a better month, statistically, than Harden? Because, at best, that is highly debatable. At worst, Harden's month was clearly better in every meaningful way.

 

Just imagine what Harden would do with a real point guard next to him like Rick Rubio.

While this seems like an impressive honor, don't forget his turnovers.

 

You guys make far too much of tiny sample sizes... We're talking about two games here. One of which we won, the other of which we should have won, and both of which were on the road. No matter who you are or who you're going against, you're going to have a bad game now and then.

Besides, Westbrook didn't play especially well in either game himself.

 

I am not suggesting that at all. I'm saying that him winning Player of the Month is a indication that the media/voters still care about team record more than "TRIPLE DUBBLEZZZZ", which is obviously very good for Harden given how much better the Rockets are than the Thunder.

 

At this moment, Harden is the MVP over Westbrook.

Yeah, if the media was all falling pray to the triple double hype, Harden and Rockets fans would have something to worry about... but my point was that even if they have an unhealthy obsession with box score numbers (not just triple doubles), one can make a healthy case that Harden still played better than Westbrook throughout December going by individual statistics. It's just that you'd have to look further than total number of triple doubles.

 

I really think this could be Harden's year. OKC is really going to have to improve that record for Westbrook to win it. It will be hard to award it to either Durant or Curry. The Spurs best player is Kahwi and as good as he is nobody is seriously considering him.

It's really looking like Harden, Lebron and Westbrook are the only ones in the running.
