With the team winning at a high clip and Harden playing like an MVP, I was wondering which of the misaligned other stars around the league would want to and be the best fit with him. Especially since the only way to beat GSW or CLE superteam is to make one of your own. It would probably have to be a forward/center/wing type given Harden is best with the ball in his hands. And also a player who is tired of losing to leverage forcing a trade. Theoretically Dwight and Bosh were supposed to be those guys but we all know how that ended up. 1) Paul George - good off the ball and secondary handler. Shoots and defends well. Soon to be free agent and he does not seem to be enjoying basketball in Indiana this year. 2) Blake Griffin - elite finisher and could fit Amare's roll. Health is somewhat concern. 3) Demarcus Cousins - am iffy about fit and attitude. Is his volatility worth it? Is this another Howard situation? This is the next and most important step to true contention.
Draymond Green is the best fit for needs and system. But I'd never want to win anything with him on my tream. So, pass on Green. Just mentioning him as my contribution for system and needs "fit". Rebounding, rim protection, elite passing from 4/5 and range shooter
George would be perfect... imagine having Ariza but with better defense, and waaaaaay better handles and playmaking. His contract ends in 2018 just as Ariza's comes off the books.
If Ariza had tremendous handles himself, could score better. Ariza - Gordo - Harden The Big One and the Little 2 I am probably thinking of a better Paul George in a Kawhi Leonard mold
Griffin would be an absolute beast in this system. This is irrelevant though. We aren't going to be adding a star like these guys.
Just give me GREAT three point shooters. I don't care if they are star players or not. Morey was obsessed with getting three star players, and I think it has hurt the team in the past. Gordon wasn't viewed as a star player, but he's playing like a star player this year. Chemistry and fit is what I'm looking for.
Paul George Blake Griffin Embiid Anthony Davis KAT Any of Curry or Thompson would be awesome around Harden Draymond but I agree with @heypartner Kawhi Maybe Conley, but not at this price
If you want a young Rasheed look no further than Boogie if we can somehow wiggle a Paul George and Boogie with Harden Gordon and
Anthony Davis would be the perfect running mate for Harden. He's an elite finisher from both outside and in the paint.
