In the playoffs Hakeem was better yes (which makes him better than Harden because playoffs performance should count way more) But during the regular season? Harden is better, look it up.
Melo played 18 minutes. Why do you "disingenuously" keep listing him as a DNP. And yes, Bev is a better player than Lee and is very important to us winning. And Capela is a key for Harden and opening up our shooters. You are the disingenuous one to have not even mentioned we were missing two key starters. Missing two starters always messes up rotations/chemistry which was proven by rockets success since he returned And to mention O'Quinn is further showing how disingenuous you are
Here's an interesting fact that even the die-hard Rockets fans don't know much about : http://www.nba-allstar.com/contests/3point/2016.htm Harden actually finished 3rd in the first round of last year's 3-point shooting contest (which basically measures spot-up shooting skills) alongside the likes of J.J. Redick, and over McCollum & Lowry (the 1st and 2nd were obvious : Steph and Klay). Harden and Redick then both lost to Devin Booker in the tie breaker (which is kinda crazy), but this little factoid alone tells u that Harden is a much better shooter than his numbers suggest. I really wish Harden stops taking those tough, off the dribble, contested 3s, and work around screens to get open like Klay does regularly. He could easily be a near 40% 3PT shooter.
I watched the game with no volume. I thought he was maybe around 40 pts with sub 10 assist and rebound. Just an ultra eff game. 53 pts on 26 shots. Rose and Jennings combined for 53 pts on 45 shots. Waiting for his 60 pts game.
You are wasting your time with wekko368, he has some weird love for Howard and a weird dislike for Harden. He is the same guy that insisted NBA stats are wrong and that Howard was not getting post touches since Harden refused to pass it to him, and that drove him out of Houston. It doesn't matter how many times you correct him, he will continue to repeat that as a talking point.
Beverley/Capela are our two most expendable starters b/c of the strength of our bench in those positions. Harrell and Capela are almost identical players so there's no real drop-off at the starting C position. We definitely miss Beverley's defense and grit, but overall, Gordon is a better player. Conversely, the Knicks have a huge drop-off between their injured starters and bench players. Porzingis replaced by Lance Thomas? Lee replaced by Justin Holiday? Lee would've been Harden's primary defender. How many times did Holiday foul Harden on a 3 point attempt? Melo to Kuzminskas? I'm including Melo b/c he missed the 2nd half. At halftime, we had a 14 point lead, and despite the Knicks not having Melo, Porzingis, and Lee, with 4 minutes left in the game, our lead had been cut to 3. Sounds like you don't follow the Knicks or play daily fantasy sports. When O'Quinn gets minutes, he actually puts up solid numbers. In fact, when he gets over 20 mpg, he's averaged almost 14 points and 11 rebounds. Since he's used as a PF/C, he would've been the primary beneficiary of Porzingis's injury.
I never said NBA stats were wrong. NBA stats said that Howard led the league in post touches. I never disputed that. The argument arose when people like you conflated "post touches" with "post shots" and claimed that Howard led the league in post shots. Even now, do you still not understand the difference between a "post touch" and a "post shot"?
Last time lee tried to guard harden he got torched for 30 points 15 assists 6 boards 3 steals 9-16 from the field 5-12 from the 3pt line......you are trolling at some fast paced tempo
Harden comparisons to Dream are apples and oranges. To state the obvious, one is a guard with the ball most of the time, the other was a center who depended on others to get him the ball. Both warp the floor for opposing defenses, both are called upon to be the best on the court every night, both had offenses designed around them. Yet I still think Dream carried the heavier load because the defensive strategy also started with him. That is no to slight Harden. After growing up with Dream, it would be emotionally hard for me to put anyone on his level. I'm just glad I get to grow old watching Harden.
this guys hate for harden is cause he is a lin fan a ex yao only then born again lin fan and they blame lin sucking on the beard.
I'd wager that people who play daily fantasy have a better understanding of team rotations and the impact of injuries than people who don't.
