It takes alot to impress 99ers or Clutch City era Rockets fans because we've seen things that were considered more amazing than the galaxy itself. so tonight, it impressed us, the Rocket fans who have seen the best of the best.
The Harden trade might be the best/worst in NBA history depending on your perspective. Sam Presti must have recurring nightmares about it.
Tom Haberstroh @tomhaberstroh James Harden had 53 p, 17 a, 16 r tonight. Considering he assisted 8 threes, he accounted for 95 (!!!) of the Rockets' points tonight.
First player in history to do what he did is enough to impress anyone regardless of team affiliation.
+1. This may be the greatest regular season performance by a Rockets player ever. Dream had a quad double tho. Playoffs are a completely different story.
Westbrook had a 51/13/10 game...on 44 shots and 20 free throws. Harden only took 26 shots and 18 free throws.
Without Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb, the trade would not have been done. You go to give credit to Morey for having Thunder to bite it.
And he did it in just 40 minutes of play. No overtime. It would be a different story line had we lost the game. This one is going to be remembered like Kobe's 82 points or Klay's 60 points in a half. Westbrook is fainting over there in OKC.
Wow... That was the most points scored by a Rocket I've ever seen. That was incredible...Congrats, James and Congrats us; as Rockets fans we might not see anything like that again-unless it's from James later in the season. My sports-related optimism hasn't been this high since '95. I'm getting good vibes, guys. Imma take those good vibes and go get drunk now. Happy New Year, fellow Rockets fans.. I know it's been a tough year for some, me too in a lot of ways, but I leave ya'll w/ this Rockets quote before we toast in 2017. It relates to these Rockets but perhaps it can inspire everyone to be better than average and gain some perspective. "Never underestimate the heart of a champion."
But if he lost some weight & Mike D'Antoni had a serious talk with him, he could have had 60-20-20 or even better!
More importantly, what elementary school did he go to? That's who should get credit for the MVP season.
