No it's because so many people believed a candidate who objectively lied more than all the other candidates and make a bunch of impossible promises.
So Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham must secretly be Democrats, right? After all, they obviously think the Russians waged an attack on our democracy that deserves strong retaliation. One could add Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to that list, based on his reaction. So what excuses will the Putin/Trump apologists in this forum have for this response to the Russian hacking of our election?
Partisan people struggle with the concept that not all people are partisan. If one speaks out against Hillary and refuses to vote for her, they are a alt-right wing racist Trumphugger. The partisan left here continue to mock those of us who voted for Johnson and insist we are lying and voted for Trump. I dont care what the Republicans think or say just as much as i feel the same as the Democrats. I dont like McCain, Graham or McConnell. Just because one speaks out against Obama does not mean they should automatically agree with the fools on the right. That is just piss poor logic. Many people need to start thinking for themselves instead of letting their parties speak for them.
Trump is a pathological liar, that is for sure. However, Hillary Clinton was even more of a pathological liar than Trump, so your premise is incorrect.
Yes she was. I did not vote for the woman. That being said, its dangerous territory to have a foreign govt meddle and have our leader play to their fiddle. Anything other than a full condemnation of what Russia did, is treasonous...and there is no way around it. My actions during this heavy political climate show that I am not partisan, and common sense alone tells me that this issue shouldn't be for anyone...as clearly displayed by even house Republicans. Trump's rhetoric was a bit troublesome before, but his attitude towards Russia is really starting to worry me. The most dangerous idiot is he who has no insight of his idiocy or limitations.
That sanctions need to be tougher. I am wondering your opinion on what the consequences should be, if any.
waiting for Mango Mussolini to chime in... Russian hackers penetrated Vermont electric utility: Washington Post Reuters 1 hour 28 minutes ago WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A code associated with the Russian hacking operation dubbed Grizzly Steppe by the Obama administration has been detected within the system of a Vermont electric utility, The Washington Post reported on Friday, citing unnamed U.S. officials. The Russians did not actively use the code to disrupt operations of the utility, the officials told the Post, but penetration of the nation's electrical grid is significant because it represents a potentially serious vulnerability. Reuters could not independently confirm the story. On Thursday, President Barack Obama ordered the expulsion of 35 Russian suspected spies and imposed sanctions on two Russian intelligence agencies over their involvement in hacking U.S. political groups in the 2016 presidential election. Government and utility industry officials regularly monitor the nation's electrical grid because it is highly computerized and any disruptions can have disastrous implications for the functioning of medical and emergency services, the Post said. U.S. officials, including one senior administration official, said they are not yet sure what the intentions of the Russians might have been, the Post reported. Federal officials have shared the malware code used in Grizzly Steppe with utility executives nationwide, a senior administration official said, and Vermont utility officials identified it within their operations, the Post reported. A senior Obama administration official declined to comment specifically on the Post report but said the administration had sought in its sanctions announcement on Thursday to alert "all network defenders" in the United States so they could "defend against Russian malicious cyber activity." While it is unclear which utility reported the incident, there are just two major utilities in Vermont, Green Mountain Power and Burlington Electric, the Post said. The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Green Mountain Power and Burlington Electric did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The penetration may have been designed to disrupt the utility's operations or as a test by the Russians to see whether they could penetrate a portion of the grid, the newspaper said. Russia is widely considered responsible by U.S. officials and private-sector security experts for a December 2015 hack of Ukraine's power grid that knocked out the lights for about 250,000 people. That hack prompted National Security Agency chief Mike Rogers to say at a conference in March that it was a "matter of when, not if" a cyber adversary carried out a similar attack against the United States. All this hacking going on and for 8 years, the Obama folks did what exactly to safeguard us? Another abject failure during Obama's horrible time in office. Wasn't Obama the one who said just 4 years ago about Romney's assertions about Russia: "The 80's called and want their foreign policy back."
1. Great for you that you didnt vote for Hillary...your prerogative..your decision. Why do you suspect that I wouldn't want what is best for our nation? Because I fall into your lists? 2. No crap...Not just Russia, but everyone of our nations adversaries are going to try to hack into our servers and private information. If you claim to be the most powerful country in the world...you have to expect to get the best attempts by others to challenge that title. You are incredibly naive if you think for a second that the United States...the world's most powerful military isnt actively engaged in cyberwar fare with friends and foes alike. If I wasnt mistaken, the US government was accused by Germany for hacking into Merkel's cellphone. And the NSA has done so for years...If we as a nation are doing so...I truly expect other nations to act in kind. 3. The Senate committee has yet to publish their reports or findings as of yet. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/features/something-about-this-russia-story-stinks-w458439 Yes several Senators have suggested that they must act if Russia is behind altering the US political process...BUT the intelligence committee damn better provide accurate and concrete evidence of digital fingerprints and data that directly indicates the source emanating from the Russian government. Till this day NOTHING has been given or made available. Wikileaks has vehemently stated that the source of the leaks were NOT from state actors...For Assange to even suggest that...it is highly unusual even for him. 4-6. NO one excuses Russia. If the Senate committee has definitive proof, they better unclassify the information to the general public... Until then...all of this is speculation at its highest and a bitter ending to a poorly run administration. 7. Once again this r****ded assertion that if you stand with Republican values, you must be a bigot, homophobe, racist, islamophobist, uneducated white male....liberals now add a new qualifier..."Putin/Russian sympathizer" 8. Too bad all your lists do is find ways to pigeon hole people that disagree with you... Guess some need D&D group therapy sessions in order to cope with being bitter... https://www.yahoo.com/news/anthony-...tter-contempt-of-working-class-151215285.html at least Bourdain gets it...
Yea just saw this post by WaPo...ill wait some time to see if they retract anything from the story...Cause you know fake news has to be a fall back..Just incase. The Senate committee was tasked to show how the Russians actually influence the election. Russian attacks on the US powergrid in the state of Vermont is just NOT the same
Compromising computer systems is the modern form of espionage. Russians and every other government have been doing it since the beginning. Obama is only publicly concerned about it now because his legacy and party were exposed for their unethical behavior. Russia is playing the Democrats like a fiddle. Whether Russia did it or not, the DNC look like complete fools and continue to look like fools as long as they keep expelling diplomats and threatening sanctions. Its high time the constituents of the DNC drain their swamp.
1. I would suspect that you don't want what is best for the United States, because you are covering for the Russians who tried to subvert our democracy and stole documents from United States computers. Rather than support the U.S. in acting against this act of espionage you are defending the nation and murderous authoritarian ruler who are responsible. 2. No outside country has ever done this to the United States during an election and targeted espionage at our democratic process. If you think it happens all the time, please list them. 3. The CIA has released their analysis. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/us-inte...ysis-of-russia-cyber-espionage-election-hack/ 4 - 6. You are making excuses or denying that even happened. 7. What? I didn't say anything about you being a bigot, homophobe, racist, or any of those other things. I've seen people cry about that a lot, but it rarely actually happens. Why don't you take some personal responsibility? If you are defending Putin for what Russia did, or even worse acting like it's a huge conspiracy made up by Obama and the media (with absolutely zero basis), then you need to be ready to be accused of being a Russian/Putin sympathizer. When you deny nations guilty of this kind of espionage even committed this kind of espionage, then it shouldn't be a surprise when you are called out on it. 8. I'm fine with people disagreeing with me. It happens all the time. I agree with Bourdain, by the way. He and I have almost identical views regarding the election and attitude of some liberal folks who are guilty of exactly what Bourdain is talking about. The disdain I feel for the de-humanizing of gun country, red-state folks is the same disdain I feel when people try and pigeon-hole liberals as sore losers (even though most liberals and those who are complaining about Russian hacking aren't doing so in hopes of changing the election or escape taking responsibility for the loss of the Presidential election), and believe that liberals call everyone who disagrees with them a racist, homophobe, Islam-a-phobe, etc. I find it odd that you are worried about liberals pigeon-holing people, then proceeded to pigeon-hole liberals in this thread, and earlier in this thread you were making up some conspiracy theory that the whole Russian hacking thing was made up by Obama and the media, even though Republicans who've seen the intelligence are on-board with sanctions as well if not in favor of tougher sanctions.
I wouldn't really know about MSM. What I know is from what people said of it on this forum. I don't watch it or any TV news for over 10 years now. I suggest you stop watching MSM if it's garbage to you as well. Not every poll. But I'm not interested in talking about poll anymore. Not responding the rest. Just not interested.
How much do you know about this subject to make that statement? Anyway, here you go for a good reading: http://www.darkreading.com/attacks-...n-the-obama-era/d/d-id/1326712?image_number=1 If you are interested in this, like I am, you would be thinking what's next. Obama got the ball rolling and there has been good progress. I'm curious what Trump's administration will do on this important front.
Russia is not the only country to hack into any aspect of the US network. China carried out what may be the largest theft of US government data when they hacked into the Office of Personnel Management. I suppose the eviction of Chinese diplomats is soon to follow.
Yes, thank goodness the USA reacted to this, and no President, President-Elect, or Posters on this board came out and claimed our Intelligence community made it up. And it also wasn't done in an effort to subvert our democratic elections.
