Sure, those are assumptions based on 100% of the available information. I'm fine with those kinds of assumptions. I'm not fine with baseless assumptions made to justify the actions of another. Saying that Morey failed to get DMo on the roster is just a factual statement. He did fail to do that. You assume that it's a good thing that he failed to do so because you don't want to believe that Morey made a mistake. I think that it was a mistake because all available information suggests that it was.

How is that based on 100% available information? The fact that the 29 other teams have also passed on DMo so far should be part of 100% of the available information yet you are conveniently skipping that part. Its a more telling piece of information than seeing DMo play a season ago or hearing PR bs from DMo and his agent, as they say the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

I don't believe Morey makes no mistakes, just this season he made a massive mistake when he wanted to get a defensive coach in the team and it was Alexander who overruled him and told him they're gonna hire MDA. I just don't like that you assume you know better than other people who do this thing for a living and have access to more information than you do.

Morey was fair to Dmo, if Dmo/BJ had accepted any of the initial offers he would be on the team right now and getting paid. Instead, they chose to stonewall and now it appears that Dmo will not be getting anything other than league minimum. Nobody is really beating down the doors to sign Dmo, nor were they over the summer time when teams had chances to.

Nobody knows what really happened or why the league stepped in but its useless to speculate, just a giant waste of time. Dmo is done here, time to move on. What difference does it make at this point? Etc.

I remember him filling in for Gasol in Memphis and he looked really good. Has a nice jumper on him to. Solid rebounder and can alter some shots.

Rockets are once again on pace to win 60 games, so protecting team chemistry is priority number one. It's why I don't see any trade happening which would shake up the rotation.

If morey can use brewer, kylite, bobby brown , kj macdans plus some money to replace a 20 plus shooter, it is worth to do it. Otherwise it does not need to do anything

Rather him than Nene at this point, but giving up a rotation player: hell no!

Keep giving majority of burn to Montrez. I'm sure the players want to keep the team intact. If we can get someone serviceable for our end of bench guys, why not.

Even Brewer looks like he's playing well now.

watson is a cap filler. i like meeks as a 3&D backup for beverley and as a lower level replacement if gordon misses time and we need a scorer off the bench. he's also in a contract year and would mean that we cleared $6.5M in cap space.

the way i see it we still have 2 needs on this team (if everyone is healthy):

    1) a second rim protector - capela can't do it all. nene can't do it. harrell is too undersized to rely on at the 5.
    2) a backup PG - we need to get brewer out of the rotation. we also need to get ennis out of the rotation for games that beverley or gordon will miss.

big guys like KK will will be harder to pry, and with all the small ball we play they are less of a priority. insurance on beverley or gordon will be easier to get and more important to have.

aside from capela we have a center group of: nene/harrell/anderson splitting minutes at the 5.
aside from harden/gordon we have a guard group of: bev/brewer/ennis splitting minutes at the guard spots.

we have to improve brewer/ennis more than nene/harrell. and clearing cap space while doing it is a really solid move.

We've been Gay friendly for awhile, but so have numerous teams. Sac has control of pulling the trigger. They have nothing to lose. Gay is leaving when he can. Boogie will leave when he can, too.

I'm not very familiar with KK's game, but it's an interesting theory. Again, the Kings are loaded at certain positions. They have been for awhile, and it seems to be a matter of choosing the young guys that you want to develop and the core that you want to keep together.

It's no secret that the Rockets are looking for a big man. Those of you who are comfortable rocking with the current rotation are forgetting how valuable extra Bigs are in the playoffs. TreZ is playing great ball, but he's still very, very new to the game, as is Clint. We are, by far, the weakest at the C spot. My guy is great in his age-related, situation-specific role :) ;), but you need some young legs and a variety of skills to make us true contenders. In MDA's system, a "Big" could technically be a forward with good rebounding skills, and equally important, the ability to shoot the ball. From his past rosters and the success he's had, I'm not too sure that Mike wants too many bigs that have limited range. When Fly Ry is off, you still need to have a guy who can rebound and score from the PF and Center spot.

It's also no secret that the Rockets are looking for help at the PG spot. Bev needs a better backup, and when we choose to play Harden off of the ball, who's the second-string guard? Tyler? Not a safe choice going into the playoffs.

Securing a guard is easier than a dependable, powerful big.

And, it's no secret that the Rockets are always looking for another versatile wing who can shoot and handle the ball.

The Kings have a cluster of guys that fit that description. The same can be said for the Clips when healthy, but I doubt they become trading partners with us as long as we're neck and neck in the standings (reminiscing on when we brought back the Smithsonian the 2nd time around...too bad it didn't work out with the dysfunction of 2015/2016's cliques/McHale/JB/Dwightmare vs. James Kardashian ;). Smoove is a good guy)

Kudos (Koufos?!) to whomever found this info. I hear more heat from out East. Again, I haven't heard KK's name, but I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility, in terms of what we need and salary issues. I've gotten an ear about Gay before. I wish we would have held on to Mr. Temple though. If he didn't make so much cash this time around, I'd love the Rox to bring my guy Arron here (years ago, he was close to being ours).

I agree with everyone mentioning chemistry. Of course, you don't want to mess with the temperament that the Rockets have. However, there is a need for some help, and if a trade is to be made, it makes more sense to do it earlier than later, when there isn't sufficient time to, as many use the term, "gel."

This team sure is fun to watch, but like all of you, I want the "fun" to go well into the playoffs. For that to happen, we've got to get some more help.

    Is KK the answer?

If we trade for a big I want a guy that plays like Montrezl Harrell. Oh wait, we already have him. Cancel any trades for bigs.

Capela and Harrell = Bad Ass

I don't think the Rockets are planning on trading Harrel or anyone on the team except maybe Corey Brewer. I think Corey Brewer, Ennis and KJ McDaniels are the only players they are planning on trading.
