If Brewer and a 2nd and Gentile gets it done, I would do it without thinking twice. Doesn't cost us any cap space this summer, Koufos' contract is easily movable and he is a perfect backup C for a couple of years while Clint continues to develop into an excellent starter. I just wonder if we really need to do it this season. If we wait till the summer, we won't have to pay as much as we do right now for Koufos. Brewer can finally be considered a filler.
Two pieces away from being heavy favs to win it all this season. I wouldn't give up any main rotation players barring Brewer. I would give up rights to Gentile/Llull &/or picks but not for Koufos.
2nd round picks are pretty valuable, and even moreso with the big cap increases causing absolutely r****ded free agent markets for the next few years.
True, but I don't know Koufos's game. He seems to have a pretty low foul rate, which is good, and has a mediocre game around the basket. How is his rebounding? His stats don't jump out. Seems like the definition of 'serviceable'.
We're pretty solid at the C, I think. When Capela returns, we'll be very solid at the C. Koufos is a fine backup C, but not sure it's a necessary move-- unless it involves Brewer. Nah, that couldn't be. Must be a smokescreen.
If we can trade more players from the roster than we get back and pick up another ball handler that would be neat.
