OK, so now read the course description. And then tell me how you are insulted, discriminated against, etc.

No, because I don't have a problem with the course. I have a problem with the clickbait course title.
haha, not even close. i'm lmao at the uni and any stem alums who have that uni on their resume. their uni just potentially screwed all of them trying to serve a few.

Only one sentence in two paragraphs brings up anything global. Furthermore, the reading materials are primarily by US authors, no clue that those books touch on global experiences but I would doubt it.

Based off of that, I am inclined to believe this course is primarily about US/Western nation whiteness, and merely delves into the problem in foreign countries.

That reading comprehension thing doesn't seem to be your forte ;).

Our class will break away from the standard US-centric frame, and consider how whiteness is constructed globally

You can make that sentence size 72 pt font, it's still a single sentence in a two paragraph course description. Context matters. That sentence could mean that the class spends one day the whole semester on global institutional racism, or it could mean that they spend the 2 months on it. Global whiteness is only mentioned one time, and the reading materials are by American authors exclusively.

At least be more subtle about it. I'd name the course the "The Plights of Colored People via By European Colonization". There's good and bad but this course focuses on the 'Plights'.

The thread title was made to be an analogy to the course title. In case you did not notice, the title is the one that has been found by many people to be problematic. To preach that it's not reasonable to have a discussion on the title alone is idiotic; you sure as can have that without needing to talk about everything else in the course (though you're certainly welcome to). So next time, learn the facts of the argument first before foolishly making comments.

And I'm amused you're still keen on downplaying issues for white people. You people still haven't learned anything from the election.

Very good then. No problem with a topic like that. Then let us all hope a course named "The Problem with Blackness" does come up in higher education soon though I highly doubt it wouldn't come with as little opposition as you think, especially in light of how easy it is to provoke blacks with BLM.

I would bet that there is already a course discussing "blackness" - the concept of "blackness" has widely been discussed - both positively and negatively. I think you are just very uneducated man who licks up whatever right-wing milk is put in front of his hungry face
