Not really, as it was a low contract going forward, he screwed up by not signing the QO and becoming an UFA...which is what he will have to be now, but he needs to get some floor burn to prove he is healthy to get a longer deal, so he will have cost himself money THIS year ......not a good negotiation...and the league stepping in screwed us again. Basketball reasons sucks ass.... We could really use him right about now. DD
Ehh their future seems OK. It doesn't scream out and it definitely isn't the best situation by any means but they have some solid youth with, Brandon Ingram DeAngelo Russell Julius Randle Jordan Clarkson But they do have some overpaid vets, lack of flexibility, and no future picks. That being said, if they win the lottery again this year(surely possible), they would have another building block. But they have always been the glamour city and team so I could see them being relevant gain sometime soon via a lopsided trade.

Well, they have no hopes for the playoffs, and I think they have to have a top 3 pick to keep their first rounder, so yeah, sort of. I think they were looking at him as a stop gap filler type player, not someone who would be an upgrade to their roster. Also, they are stuck with Tarik Black for at least one more season and they are hoping that Randle becomes a good player at some point so you really don't want to take away too many of their minutes for a rental player.
This is sad. But I though he wasn't losing a dime of the $8mm rockets offer? He's now trying out for a team that can't offer more than $2.8m pro-rated, and they didn't even make an offer because they were afraid that Tarik f'n Black would lose playing time? I wished he had fired the loser agent at the start of the season or signed the QO and played eight the rockets. dantoni would have increased his value for sure had he held up. In any case I'm happy with the development from Harrell and dekker so this just represents a loss of an asset bc of idiocy by Bj and DMO.
