You seem to want this leak investigated because of certain wrongdoings that it reveals, while insisting that other even more serious wrongdoings should be ignored obviously because members of the political tribe you support would likely be implicated.

A Senate investigation is not a criminal trial and is not restricted by the rules of a criminal trial. The Senate has reasonable cause to subpoena the email records that were leaked and to question those who appear to have been involved in corrupting our presidential election process. Of course no thorough investigation of any election tampering during his last presidential election can be performed without examining these matters. Any effort to try to sweep these improprieties under the rug will be seen as just another blatant act of rigging the system on behalf of certain lawless political elites, which is exactly what it would be. That will not be politically sustainable in the current environment.

Let's remember who it is that has been insisting the election was rigged and that Hillary Clinton lost in large part because of tampering with the electoral process. It has been Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and their Democrat supporters on the left. They have called for an investigation and there is good reason to have one, as long as it is a thorough review of all possible forms of improper tampering with the most recent presidential election, and not just those who the Democrat left would offer up as scapegoats for their own failings.

By all means, let the Senate investigation of all election tampering allegations commence. The Democrats have been asking for it. Now they are going to get it.

Putin was brought up and trained by the KGB under the USSR. A lot of the oligarchs in the Russian Federation also rose up through the ranks of the USSR military/intelligence community. If you think the Cold War is completely out of their minds after the USSR collapsed then you'd be mistaken.

How was it subverted? Sucks Sanders played checkers instead of chess. He couldn't get enough support from his base, which weren't all registered democrats. The DNC backed the Democrat who has been helping down vote for decades, not the guy who wasn't a democrat until it was convenient.

LOL. The GOP is over Clinton, they didn't need to waste anymore time on Benghazi because of Russia. They won't waste more time on Clinton now that the election was over. Care to bet?

Let's see how you feel if China decides to release Trump administration communications in order to sow distrust.

Does that mean going through RNC communications? It seems kinda one-sided otherwise, don't you think?

It is not about Clinton, it is about election tampering. Do you take this seriously or not? I sure do.

Wherever the investigation finds evidence of election tampering, that should be pursued, with no special treatment for anyone. This is too important. Besides, while it does appear that Hillary was probably complicit, she would not be the main target among the Democrats. That will likely be reserved to the leaders of the DNC.

As far as China, or Russia, or any foreign nation, I don't know how many more times I have to say this, as I have said it in this thread at least half a dozen times already. If there is any legitimate reason to suspect that any of these countries tampered with the most recent election in any significant way, that should be investigated and these countries should be held accountable as appropriate. No free passes for anyone.

In fact, the only people advocating for giving anyone a pass is you guys, as you apparently are opposed to having the Democrat's apparent election tampering investigated. I want any relevant activities by the Russians investigated. So stop projecting your tendencies on to me and others on the right. We do not bring the inverse perspective of whatever your perspective is to this issue.

As far as hacking, that should not be tolerated and anyone involved in that should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, whether that be two guys on 4-chan hacking each other out of spite, or a company getting hacked, or international governments involved in their spy games.

With regards to these foreign countries and their spy agencies, that is going to be difficult however, as our government intelligence agencies are very possibly the most egregious hackers of other foreign nations in the world at the present time. So if we out them, they are sure to out us and our activities in reply. However, we need to keep in mind that the DNC is not part of the federal government, so this hacking is of a private organization. On that front, all we can do retroactively is to issue a stern statement.

Going forward, our government's sensitive information and the DNC's sensitive information need to be much more effectively secured. I suspect that when the smoke clears on this investigation, that will be at the top of the list of conclusions reached as far as who or what is to blame here. It is my understanding that whoever it was that did this hacking tried to get into the RNC as well, but the security measures were too strong, so they couldn't get in. Anyway, we will find out more during the investigation.

If there is any evidence to suggest the RNC has been involved in tampering with the election, then absolutely they should be held accountable as well. Draining the swamp means going after the corruption and self-dealing by the most powerful, which should certainly include the Republicans, if there is any reason to believe they engaged in any sort of wrongdoing on this.

Please do not make me repeat myself on this matter again.

Indeed. His post above this one is a good example. He attempts to equate the victims with the perpetrators. A hostile power injects itself into our election on the side of Mr. Trump, according to at least 16 different US government intelligence entities and the FBI, and its the same thing to him, so he says. It isn't remotely the same thing, as has been pointed out several times in this forum by several members, yet he uncorks this pompous post.

"Please do not make me repeat myself on this matter again. "

    Merry Christmas.

There is no victim here. There is just crooks who were exposed by other crooks. It's telling that since partisans can't defend the actions that were exposed by the Russians, they don't even try to. Instead they just play the victim card and try to ignore the content of the hacks while playing up how horrible those who blew the whistle on them are for doing so.

It's nuts that you see democrats as the bigger threat than Russia. Just absolute nuts. Makes me want to write you off as tin-foil on the head

It's only in bizarro world that Conservatives are defending Russia for trying to control our elections and instead blaming democrats. They don't even know how much influence Russia has with Trump. It's almost as if they would be ok with Trump becoming dictator of the U.S.A. Wait...that's what they actually want. Holy ****.

No, our president is the one mistaken and the one taken for a fool. Apparently Vlad wasn't even upset with the two NATO entrants during Obama's first year, which are both in south central Europe.

Vlad was however upset over what he saw as US hostility in the 2011 presidential elections. He called out Hillary Clinton specifically. Words have actions? Actions have actions. It therefore is no surprise that yet again Mrs. Clinton is playing off the consequences of her actions as harmless and dismissing any responsibility assigned to herself for her actions.

That being said, I'm sure Putin and many others have a certain nostalgia for the Soviet Union but it is not coming back anytime soon. However, that does not mean that NATO and the EU can expand into former Soviet states without incurring some penalty from Russia.
    Vlad never ran the KGB.

You know, it is interesting that yesterday, December 26th, marked the supposed 25th anniversary of the end of the Soviet Union. It's been 25 years, bruhs.

That is just bat **** crazy. The Russians hacked the Dems to interfere in our Presidential election. You appear to believe that the Russians after illegally obtaining those emails would not also modify them to suit their agenda. Your naivety is breath taking.

So if Obama knew that the Russians were interfering with the election many months ago and he told Putin to "cut it out" or else then why didn't he do anything about it at the time? Is it another Syria "red line" scenario? Did he even actually know what was going on? Did that meeting even happen? If he knew this was such a high level attack at the time then he should have immediately met with his cabinet when it happened to figure out an immediate course of action. Why did he wait months to address this issue? Why did he wait until after the election to say there was a major attack sponsored by the Russian govt against our electoral process? What has been our response to the supposed Russian interference?

Why aren't the Democrats asking those questions? Why isn't everyone asking those questions? All of this tough talk is coming out far too late. The timing doesn't make too much sense based on the gravity of the charges from our administration. These bombshell accusations from the Democrats and their timing has only left me with more questions

Julian Assange of Wikileaks continues to maintain that the Russians were not the source of this information. He may be a sleazebag, but his truth-telling record is a rock-solid 100%. Which is spectacularly better than the truth-telling record of the US Government, its intelligence agencies, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton or the DNC.

In fact, there is some pretty compelling evidence that a DNC operative actually leaked the information to Assange.

So, to be generous to Barack Obama and the other leftist promoters of this conspiracy theory, it probably makes sense to let the Senate investigation of this matter run its course and to refrain from prematurely jumping the gun in an effort to shift responsibility for the Democrat's losses up and down the ballot onto the Russians.

What is nauseating is that a hostile foreign power injected itself into our presidential election in an attempt to elect Donald Trump, for reasons of their own, and that there are some truly bizarre people here working hard to make excuses for it. This isn't about "Red versus Blue." It is about an assault on our democracy.

    Take some Pepto-Bismol.

Again, an assault on our democracy was when the Democrats rigged their primary election and then colluded with the media in an effort to rig the national election.....but you don't want to talk about that, because partisanship.

You want to pretend that didn't happen and focus on Russia exploiting stupid people in the DNC to gain access to emails. To you, that was truly wrong, not what the DNC was doing. I mean, I get it, you are a good Democrat. You think exactly what they want you to think, and you are loyal beyond reason. There are plenty of Republicans that way too....and both of you are absolutely ridiculous. This party first nonsense simply has to stop.

You say. Besides, these agencies are currenty ruled by the Obama regime. He has corrupted virtually every part of our government and there is literally no good reason to trust him or his crew at this point.

This cannot be evaluated based on anonymous leaks from these intelligence agencies througg the press, especially while these agencies continue to refuse to give testimony to House and Senate oversight commitees about their supposed agreement about this.

Needless to say, the Obama regime's handling of all this has been far too fishy and suspect to just take anyone's word - released through anonymous sources - for all of this.

A Senate investigation is what is needed to try to get to the truth here, whatever that happens to be.

Nonsense. I look forward to your next foray into making excuses for what happened. Now our numerous intelligence agencies and our enormous intelligence resources, and the FBI not only have it all wrong, they are under the control of the President and his minions, doing his bidding, because according to you, the President "has corrupted virtually every part of our government." With all respect due, you are clearly lost in a morass of conspiracy theories. It would be painful to witness if you hadn't exhibited the same behavior here time and again.

If that is really what all of these intelligence agencies and the FBI think, then why are they refusing to give testimony about it before House and Senate oversight comittees?

I want to see this matter investigated, for the truth to come out and for any improprieties to be held to account. You have clearly decided to spew the leftist talking points without any willingness or desire to objectively evaluate the facts here, especially if that might reflect badly on your political tribe. As for me, I will hold out for the truth, which I get the sense we have not fully seen yet.
