Noel could be a good player and I understand why he's complaining about minutes, but after watching last year's team blow up and have bad chemistry (possibly due to bringing in Lawson), I don't want Noel. We'd have to give up a decent haul (probably have to outbid Boston, Dallas, maybe Orlando). We'd probably have to give up a pick or two, and at least one of Dekker or Harrell to remain competitively, and with the team playing well and having fun, I don't want to rock the boat. I think this trade season we make a small consolidation deal (trade some of our garbage for different garbage) and see if we can strike gold or take a flier on a guy.

Anderson's shooting threat is one of the most valuable assets the Rockets have on this team. He's phenomenal for his size and range. Well worth the $80million 4 years if not more. Ibaka isn't going to play the 5 or 4 the way this team needs it to be played. Nerlens Noel seems to be disgruntled and injury prone so the best option is to stick with Harrell, Nene, and Onuaku or try to trade with Portland for a guy like Mason Plumlee which would be the ideal fit all around at the 5.

Meh, Steph Curry and LeBron think at least two plays ahead.

He's not better than what Anderson brings to the Rockets in no shape or form. I'm sorry if you don't watch the current games closely but there's no way this team is better without Anderson (which would have to happen based on the cap) and having Ibaka. Ibaka simply isn't that good enough of a 3 point volume shooter to have the impact to take the Rockets to that next level the way Ryan Anderson has. And Anderson is also an intelligent player that does get that loose rebound and can create in his own right as well. Anderson > Ibaka hands down.

For whatever mess Brewer currently is, he's more than happy to come off the bench and does contribute in amazing ways as a tall wirey quick defender and occasional scorer. Ibaka is a current starter now? He would be sour to take a lesser role.

Tyson isn't bad, but three more years is a long time for a guy that can't jump anymore...

It would be foolish to take on that much guaranteed salary and undermine our flexibility to possibly sign or trade for a 2nd star like Paul George; Blake Griffin etc. Tyson Chandler is not the difference between what we have and a ring. I love the guy but we'd be begging to get rid of his contract within a year as his skills/body continues to decline. Let's develop Chinanu like we did Clint. We'll be fine.

I agree. I would absolutely take Chandler if the basketballholic scenario were to happen where Tyson waived his final two years, but I can't commit to him beyond this season at those dollars. Too risky.

I think it's fantasy though to dream about George or Griffin coming here under the new CBA. Pure fantasy.

It's only 2 games but Tyson has been basically worthless on offense and defense against the Rockets this season. I'm not even sure he could beat out Harrell for minutes. (Of course, our PnR & Space Offense might make him look better on offense.)

Agreed it's not likely but if Indiana is in the lottery I think Paul George forces his way out of there. PG already turned down the same max contract Harden signed because he wants to see how the team does. In any case you don't take yourself out of contention for an aging Tyson Chandler.

Good luck forcing yourself out, and if he does manage to make the relationship so toxic that bird believes he can't resign him, good luck beating the offers that would come in.

Again, I said getting Paul George is NOT LIKELY. However, you don't take yourself out of PG contention for a 34 year old, declining, multi-year guaranteed overpaid Tyson Chandler. We may not be able to beat trade offers but PG will be an unrestricted free agent soon looking to go to a championship contender. How many of those are there that he'd fit with two summers from now? Rockets, Clippers (if they don't break up the team after their inevitable postseason collapse), Toronto? I like our chances if he enters the market.

One has to think if maybe being on that team is the likely explanation. Probably doesn't really care about giving it his all to a non-competitive team.

For sure. Plus, both games were blowouts so him kinda mailing it in on those games shouldn't be too surprising. Still, I'd feel better if I saw him doing something productive.
