Yeah its called a boatload of guaranteed money. He had to ball out here because he was a 2nd round pick without the guaranteed first contract.

I'm not mad at him taking the money. Everyone including myself would have if put in his position.

It's just that, he's a basketball player. He's been playing the game his whole life. For every player that gets the money and coasts and doesn't try hard, theirs way more that get the money and still grind. This is something these guys grew up loving since they were little kids.

I just don't understand how parsons had so much potential. I guess the injuries have really sapped him of any athleticism. Because the guy was looking at becoming a 20/5/5 guy easy. He had a lot of promise and looked like a future top 5 SF.

Poor guy I really enjoyed his game he was really good and fun to watch. I'm glad morey didn't match and let him go. Ariza has been the better player the past 2+ years and it's not even close just because he's available every night.

    I get that.

By why doesn't he still want to ball out and get in shape. Guy is fat and can't even move.

I mean this is still a game I thought he loved. He's been playing it since he was a small child.

I'm not trying to get into this debate, but am I going crazy or did we not think Parsons was an amazing defender here his rookie year? He was a bit of a liability on offense because of how flat his shot was, but I recall Clutchfans salivating over him locking down Durant and Kobe late in games a few times... He was a fantastic defender. Just started focusing more on offense than defense in his later years.

Dekker is a beefed up version of Chase Budinger

I think we forget how good Parsons was. He was a second round pick who had an immediate impact on the team. Rarely do you see that. And he significantly improved offensively the next couple of years.

Going forward, I think Dekker can have a better career due to Parsons's injury history.

Majority think Dekker is better than Parson, so is Sam going to get a near to max contract just like Parson did?

I can foresee a big debate here - Should we match the offer sheet?

I doubt dekker gets a max deal but if he does that's good for the rockets. That means they have a very good player on their hands and a tough decision to make.

One thing I didn't think was true a week ago Im starting to change my mind on.

I think dekker is the better athlete. That guy gets up and Down the court like a gazelle and has bunnies. That up and under dunk was insane not many guys make that dunk and he's legit 6'9 and has a lot of mass on him.

To me the most interesting thing about dekker is that he can legit play two positions. He's a good enough rebounder and has the size to we're he can play PF for long stretches. And obviously he can play the wing position.

I don't think he has the handles or passing to be a allstar level player, parsons had those tools that's why it's unfortunate what has happened to his career but I do think he can be a 18/8 guy in a year or two. He just makes the right plays and also plays really well off of Harden which is a plus.

When comparing these two, pay special attention to two areas: posture and ass.

Parsons walks around with kind of a hunch, like his core doesn't quite have the muscles to stay up straight. Dekker is much more erect in his posture.

Parsons also has rather flat and small glutes. Dekker's glutes are more prominent and rounded.

Both of these factors makes Dekker more physically equipped to play power forward in the NBA.

Parsons was, I recall, trying to gain the muscle to play PF in Dallas but he just does not have the genetic endowment.
