I hate to break it to you Deckard but the Soviet Union no longer exists. You are perhaps the most ignorant poster here. You flip out way too easily. The current Russian state Is far different than the Soviet Union. Not sure why you would equate the two. Yes, they are both in the same geographic location, but by your bizarre logic the Germans are still Nazis. Hate to break it to you again but Nazi Germany is long gone.
So from what I learned from this thread - it's ok for a foreign gov't to hack into the Republican party and reveal all their secrets. China - start hacking into Trump and all his business connections - show us everything he is hiding! According to our right wing friends - you're just being a whistle blower and a service to America!
Clearly you did not read the thread if that what you think it says. Cyber-attacks and hacking are a huge problem that all major countries are aggressively engaged in right now, including us. As long as we are doing it, they will certainly continue to do it too. However, we are not going to stop doing it, as that is what intelligence agencies largely do these days. Nevertheless, we need to stop this from happening and our government is supposedly working on that, as well they should. That you guys would think the election was undermined by revelations about the Democrats efforts to rig their own primary and other nefarious actions is absurd. The problem here was not the revelations of corruption by Hillary Clinton and other Democrats, it was the corruption itself. Of course as you surely know, the Senate will be investigating allegations that the recent presidential election was rigged or corrupted, which has the support of everyone that I have seen weigh in about that. Hopefully that investigation will include the improprieties committed by the Democrats in that regard, as I expect they will be. Time to wake up and smell the coffee, Lou.
What actual corruption are you talking about though? There is no pay-to-play evidence - Clinton Cash was a joke of journalism, there was zero evidence of anything illegal (unlike Trump and his charities). The DNC did not act against Sanders, they only spoke about it in emails - that's not corruption, it's not good, but it's not corruption. So please, do state what corruption happened because right now you are just throwing that word around without any evidence. Do I think that the Russian hacking hurt Clinton and might have cost her the election? Given the margins in swing states - it is a possibility. Is that what I am concerned about? No. I am more concerned that Russia hacked into our systems - Dem or Rep, and Trump is denying it and poo-pooing our intelligence agencies. That's disturbing.
Well if they continue in the same direction they are in now they'll be living with the disappointment of continuing to lose elections.
Ehh... perhaps your argument wouldn't be so absurd if the current dictator ruling Russia wasn't the former HEAD OF THE KGB OF THE SOVIET UNION!
I can't even comment on a lot of the stuff because it's impossible for me to understand the mindset of a lot of these far right wing nuts. I'll echo it again since you brought it up. The former ****ing head of the KGB of the USSR.
What does that have to do with the U.S.S. of R though? I don't get how that Russia = USSR? What is this KGB? Kentucky Grilled Borsch?
The level of ignorance on display here by supporters of Donald Trump is incredible. Is it simply an exhibition of just how poor an education they received, a display of partisanship with a wholesale disregard for our democratic system, a combination of the two? As has already been pointed out, most of us are more concerned, post-election, about the subversion of our democracy by a hostile power, a hostile power with a decades long history of hatred for democracy, than we are about who won and who lost. This is worse than Watergate, worse than a partisan Supreme Court deciding the 2000 election, something they had no business doing, and worse than a partisan Director of the FBI attempting to help one party over another, yet there are people here making the most disingenuous excuses for Vladimir Putin's successful effort to subvert our democratic process. Their willingness to support Putin's actions is both frightening and bizarre.
What is worse than all of that is the efforts to subvert the electoral process by the Democrats and their supporters. The good news is that all of this and the possible role of any foreign governments that may or may not have been involved in any effort to subvert our presidential election is going to be investigated by the US Senate. Speeches will be given, testimony from experts taken, evidence will be obtained and examined, investigative reporting on all these matters will be undertaken by the press, if any of them can be bothered, and the public will be involved in the debate, almost certainly including us here on this board. I think that is a good thing, to get ALL of the corruption on this subject out in the open, don't you?
I have already addressed this. You continue to be part of the strange group of members here who are making excuses for the intervention of a hostile power in our presidential election. You should be ashamed.
I just said that I wanted to see the investigation of any and ALL nefarious activities associated with any election rigging that may or may not have happened, including any that may have been conducted by foreign powers. But you know this. What you are actually pushing back against is the investigation of improprieties by our political parties, specifically the Democrats, who we know from the Wikileaks stuff were involved in some really sleazy and apparently illegal activities in this regard. Why is the investigation of the Democrats possible corruption of the election process so objectionable to you? {Of course we know the answer. As such, you really don't have to answer back.}
Scoring high on the Asvab is like gettting a 1100 on your math and reading portion of your SAT. You aren't mentally r****ded, just competent/average... Bobby's entire "You are all plebs and I'm a genius" trope stems from him believing that him scoring high enough on a ****ing ASVAB to have an enlisted 'intelligence' MOS and work at a S2 shop and him believing that empathy and pc culture is for plebs and that he has transcended those flaws. It's even more hilarious because he actually tried to use his ****ing asvab score to tell me I'm stupid because I was a direct combat MOS and then told him he's stupid because he used a ****ing asvab score to 'prove' his supurior cognitive abilities(he assumed I had a low asvab score because I chose infantry).
Those Podesta and DNC emails were private communications and were obtained illegally, potentially by foreign actor. As private communications, the involved parties have a serious expectation of privacy. Without a warrant those emails would never have been legally made public. If the emails were obtained by Russia, one can not assume that they were released to Wikileaks unmodified. Specifically there would be no chain of custody. One should not assume that the Congressional investigation would lead to criminal prosecution of the DNC or Podesta. One should assume that the Congressional investigation will be lead by the Republicans and will be carried out to meet their political ends.
Our education system has always been fine. But some of the kids and parents were always awful, and now all of the television and video games are amazing. Better than Castlevania and Gidget reruns.
