I got called with all sorts of names just for pointing out areas where Harden needs to improve, smh. People always do this when the team goes on a winning streak and then suddenly any criticism of our players becomes 'hate' and illegitimate, even when Harden shoots poorly and regularly commits 7+ turnovers, he can't be called out because we are winning? Well, good luck with that attitude because we ain't going anywhere in the playoffs with this version of Harden - the writing is on the wall for everyone to see, unless you're blinkered by blind homerism.
Reading the NYT article about Malcom Kerr and Steve Kerr: this is an excerpt from that article about how Malcom would teach Steve how to control his temper after missed shots when Steve was young: "He was an observer,” he said. “And he let me learn and experience. I try to give our guys a lot of space and speak at the right time. Looking back on it, I think my dad was a huge influence on me, on my coaching.” You gotta let your player play, experience and learn. How else is he going to improve. You think Harden doesn't know the obvious? We ask a lot for him to deliver to make us a contender, a rare feat not many players can do just on their own. Give him time. Coaching a player is much more complicated than pointing out the obvious.
he needs to lose few pounds; as many others have pointed out he is noticeably slower than few years ago and is not as explosive.
As much I respect you in the D&D, you seriously need to stop gargling James Harden's nuts. He is careless with the ball. It is a problem that NEEDS to be fixed if this team has any hope of beating any of the elite teams in a 7 game series. Learn to cope with that notion. The world isn't over because James Harden, your bae, isn't infallible.
Wait so people feel that this roster, as is, is capable of taking out the elite teams if James Harden would just be less careless? Come on now.
That's what's so absurd about this thread. As if to say Harden doesn't care enough. As if to say that the easiest area we can get rid of bad habits is the couple of TO's from the guy putting up 28/12/7. As if telling someone something firmly is a thing, like these guys are f'ing minions doing mechanical tasks. As if James Harden turning it over 2 times less is different than say Steph Curry turning it over 2 times less. WHY DOESN'T KERR JUST HAVE A TALK WITH CURRY, they could win 80 games lol. As if the rhythm and flow with which Harden plays has zero connection to the POSITIVE things he does too, like dishing 12 assists a game or putting up 28 points. As if giving Harden the freedom to operate his way has no impact on his morale, his mood, which in turn connects to the team's chemistry. If only Terrence Malick would shoot his movies quickly. Or Quentin Tarantino would stop making dark movies so we could sell it to more kids. If only Kanye would just be a polite person and still make music fit for the future. If only Michael Jordan would stop taking contested shots in certain specific outlined situations in hindsight, the Bulls could have 8 rings! It's the mindset of a person who has not accessed a creative bone in their body or has not needed to. Great type of person to be an employee to give orders to, terrible kind of person to manage people. Basic people do not accomplish amazing things. People who accomplish incredible things generally have some illogical tendencies and habits. Not everyone is Tim Duncan, and who knows what we don't know about Tim Duncan. You can take it or leave it, it's a value proposition. Other teams would pay tens of millions of dollars more than we're paying James Harden for even last season's James Harden. And we're here talking about reducing Harden's turnovers a bit. What a careless a-hole he is right. He doesn't care enough to put the effort huh? Too much. Just idiotic, childish fandom with zero regard for the fact that these are human being doing tasks that require thought and creativity. I seriously can't return to this thread and I know many people will have valid points to make but these overall ideas are just so archaic and infuriating to hear at a time when we should be appreciating how hard this team works. This is a hard working team with a tremendous workplace culture showing great productivity and results and James Harden is the driver. The way that his positives are mentioned in passing before proceeding to **** on him is a total joke. Peace Out
This. Harden is really starting to annoy me with his carelessness. Even against Memphis, just when we were trying to make a comeback, Harden totally squashed the momentum with series of his patented careless turnovers. We had no hope of winning after that.
All I know is that there is a familiar pattern with Harden and crunch time turnovers - not just in games we lose.
What the F*ck is up with this narrative that Harden is Fat? when your own fans are the biggest haters. . . then wonder why they never win and people leave .. . ugh Rocket River
QUESTION: What percentage of Clutchfans could beat him in a marathon? I think he is concerning his energy more and controling the flow of the game rather than being overly anxious. . . but that is just me Rocket River
they should just play cyber ball . . . or NBA 2K A special pass and a turnover are mere microseconds difference . The player that never tries that pass . .. is never going to be special Rocket River
I don't mind his passes that are turnovers - I am bothered by the dribble of his leg stuff or the picking of his pocket type. Or the ones where he barrels into a crowd and tries to pass it through 3 defenders from a bad position. I like Harden - he's a legit superstar, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have some areas that need improvement.
Hahaha....I do agree that we aren't going anywhere in the playoffs this year but when you state "we ain't going anywhere in the playoffs with this version of Harden" you're basically saying we're not going anywhere because Harden is not good enough. I don't think I need to explain why that is a ridiculous statement.
We CAN say Dwight needs to limit ineffective post-ups, Brewer needs to limit ineffective 3's but CAN'T say Harden needs to limit ineffective dribble possessions? (?)
Totally fair, also go ahead and tell him to limit missing shots, as well. But when you do, make sure you have a "serious" talk with him, not just a normal one. He really needs to get the message.
