Why do we still need to create threads relating to Parsons? Every season there's a thread in the NBA forum tracking him, and a thread in the GARM to compare him. Same thing goes for JLin

Parsons is a douchy, oft injured, over paid, over hyped loser. Rockets fans are like the ex boyfriend who still tracks their ex's FB page, hoping for that chance to rekindle.

Decker is on track to be an awesome player. Hits threes and slashes in the paint. Sounds like Parsons but I see more value in him. Don't see any douche in him either

I feel that it would be unfair to compare the 2 because their roles were different for their 'rookie' year. Parson got the starting position and played a lot of minutes so he had more opportunities to showcase his talents. CP was maybe the 2nd best scorer for our team that year so he had the green light to do whatever he wants while Dekker is the 2nd man off the bench and comes in as a complimentary player.
If Dekker was playing then instead of CP, would he have looked better? IDK, but only time will tell if he will be more valuable.

Right and that's what I was saying before, that in this offense we haven't been able to see what Dekker can or cannot do if given the green light to try and get points by himself. It's not a knock on him but rather giving credit to Parsons in that even though he had like two moves he still had those two moves.

My point is that those moves don't constitute creating his own shot. The pump fake was always predicated on him being open and the ball being kicked out to him. You could never just pass Parsons the ball and tell him to create a shot for him or his teammate. They tried do that toward his last year here, and it almost always ended up in a turnover or bad shot. Maybe our definition of creating their own shot differ. As much as I loved Parsons while he was here, I never saw him create his own shot.

If you compare Dekker's per 36 numbers to Parson's rookie season, they are almost identical except Dekker is a better rebounder and Parsons had slightly more assists. Even though Dekker is in his second season, he is still a year younger than Parsons was in his rookie season. People forget that Parsons was 23 years old in his rookie year.

Since you've said you're one of his biggest fans I'll believe your assessment on Parsons. Maybe it was because he had the ball in his hands moreso in the latter stage of his Rockets tenure is warping my memory of him.

All in all, I hope Dekker continues on this path and refine his game. He can definitely be in the league for a long time

Dekker has been a pleasant surprise this season. When I watch him, he just always seems to be in the right place at the right time kind of thing. He hustles and plays hard. He is surprisingly more athletic than he looks- and more athletic than Parsons was here.

Parsons was more skilled and although he played hard, he didn't seem to have that same hustle kind of edge.

If we are talking about their overall careers, Dekker has a good chance to have a better career if he is able to stay healthy. Parsons' career has been sidelined by injuries.

Dekker is good and a solid contributor on a good team. The things that Parsons did better for us are things that I think he can practice and improve (shooting, defense) while the things that Dekker is doing better for us seem, to me at least, to be more of the intangible kind of things- hustle and BBIQ

Parsons seems like a better passer to me, though. I always liked how he can get Dwight involved in the offense. But since both are gone, I don't know how many assists are there to share since Harden is ballin out his mind.

Dekker has more hops than Parson wishes he had. Parsons shoots better and finishes better.

As Parsons is declining and Dekker is rising, yes, Dekker will be better.

If Dekker evolves into Brent Barry or even Matt Harpring type of player, I will happily take that.

I like Dekker but ask this question April 2018. I do enjoy watching him play and he is showing more confidence all the time.

Parsons does everything that Dekker does well just a little bit better. If Dekker stays healthy, he will have the better career.

You know what? I think he will be better.
I was very doubtful about him but he's constantly improving and we forget he's only 22.
Although Parsons had bad luck with injuries so it's not fair towards him but he got stuck in the same level for about 3-4 years now. Just his paycheck kept growing.

Hope he is a blue collar worker, works on his game after he got his big contract, getting even better.

That is what we want to watch and hope as fans.
