If we win 23 games in a row, is Harden better than T-Mac?

  1. No, T-Mac is still better.

  2. Yes, thanks to Mike "The Maestro" D'Antoni.

Harden's production and career as a Rocket surpassed McGrady's a while back. McGrady peaked in Orlando and had maybe 2-3 prime years in Houston before falling off completely. And he was never a legitimate MVP candidate in Houston. Harden has now been a legit top 2-3 MVP candidate in two of his five seasons, his numbers dwarf T-Mac's in Houston, and he took the Rockets further into the postseason than Tracy ever did. It's not even close, IMO.

False. Watch this video. Good times and a great memory for all true Rockets fans. :)

"But with Houston threatening to win the west without Yao, McGrady looks as worthy of MVP consideration as anybody!"

Mavs fan with nothing to do when his team sucking balls, trying to troll around, originality at its best.

He's not much better than T-Mac. They played in different times under different circumstances.

It's not an accurate comparison to look at things that way

T-Mac played primarily under JVG. Harden is playing in Morey's offense, first under that fool McHale and now under an offensive genius in D'Antoni.

McGrady had better handles than Harden, better vision, turned it over less, better athleticism, was still able to score when the refs swallowed their whistle, and a better midrange game.

Harden is surprisingly much better at getting to the rim consistently. He is also the better three point shooter. For these reasons he excels in the style we play in for the past 6 years.

McGrady was about 20x the defender Harden is. It's not even close. You can't simply overlook this.

Because of this I still think McGrady at his peak was better than Harden. It's irrelevant though because Harden's peak has just started and he's already been consistently good and injury free for longer than McGrady. So maybe Harden is better. Maybe T-Mac is. Who knows? Who cares?

Again though, I think they're both great players. It's pretty meaningless to say who's better. It's not likely to be an accurate comparison. I actually don't understand the need to compare them anyway.

I definitely would say Harden is the more important rockets player. He's had post-season success that this team had not seen for a long time. Hopefully more of that comes!

We should just appreciate we've had two shooting guards as good as Harden and McGrady in the past 10 years. I'm not sure if any other team can boast of this.

So true. So many Rockets fans simply do not know how to evaluate defense. T-Mac's defense is so underrated and underappreciated.

Posting a video midseason of ESPN saying McGrady was an MVP candidate doesn't prove anything. The guy never even finished top 5 in MVP voting any season when he was in Houston. Therefore, over the course of an entire NBA season, he was never a serious MVP candidate. Harden has finished in the top 5 twice in Houston and, barring injury, is a lock to finish in the top 5 for a third time this year. His production crushes McGrady's as does the team's success since he's been here.

Harden > McGrady. And I don't think there's an argument to be made to suggest otherwise.

Even if the Rockets never win another game, Harden is better than T-Mac

Tmac would actually HOLD THE BALL. Instead of forcing dumb **** and turning the ball over.

I think they're pretty close as far as ability is concerned. Harden is the better scorer. Equal facilitators. T-Mac is the better defender. Achievement-wise Harden has already exceeded T-Mac. WCF > 1st round exit

Tmac was a good playmaker but nothing like Harden. Tmac was longer and better player to watch but Harden has him beat.
