ClutchFans Game Thread: Spurs @ Rockets 12/20/2016

Spurs strategy is obvious. beatup on us in the inside. Switch harden with kawahi or green on top and no bigs should be playing off the picks. they park gasol inside as the 3rd man back to stop hardens penetration. Simply good coaching. Anderson needs to start hitting his 3's to drag our Gasol out of the key so harden get to the rack.

 

Overall he Rockets played well in the half. Got sloppy towards the end but it came down to their (The Spurs) size advantage and not hitting 3s. Not everything is the absolute worst or the absolute best.

 

we should have resign Dmo.

 

A little sloppy in that 2nd quarter, but the defense is solid so far. Gotta come out on Green more.

If we just would have hit 2 more 3's...

 

If Rockets Had Capela they would be crushing the Spurs..

Eric Gordon has been great but misses two layups (and cry's about being fouled) & makes two boneheaded turnovers every game smh... but in the end makes up for it with the splashes.

 

He's not what this team needs.

Anderson and ariza have really let us down thus far.

 

This is a playoff preview. Slow it down grind. If we want to go far we have to figure out how to win despite it.

 

So what's going on in here? Terrible first half 3 point shooting. Nice halftime show.

 

James played very good defense at this point, he just made the mistake of leaving Green wide open two times to double where he wasn't supposed to, too bad for those two threes cause we were gaining momentum

 

Got sloppy towards the end, but good effort otherwise.

Need to start hitting some threes, or the Spurs will steamroll us in the second half.

I thought the Rockets played well.

Could easily be winning right now.

 

Harden got Do better job on green, he was too wide open, I know harden had to help out sometime but, I rather give LA the 2 points than greens 3 point

 

The problem is you can't double against the Spurs because their bigs are great passers and they will kill us from 3

 

This is the game where we learn to adjust to good 3pt defense. We need 3s. Run some new screens we haven't seen. Penetrate and kick out. Something!

 

This is about as well as we can play while being 3/20 from 3 .

The Spurs have 1 more make in half the attempts .

Usually when a team shoots that bad a percentage it's because they are settling of are taking contested shots ... We are not .

At least half of our looks have been wide open , just haven't gone it .

For those saying attack , we are doing it . But you also can't pass up open shots .. That's like the worst thing you can do

 

Down by 7 after shooting 35% from the field, I'll take it.
