I dunno man.. He looked like absolute trash when he was playing in summer league. I get that he's super young and will develop. But we need a piece now

I do agree Chandler would be a nice fit.
I just don't like his age and contract.
The upside with Chandler is still the same upside without him, imo.

And of course you have to move assets to get him. That may not be anyhi g meaningful. But there's still an opportunity cost there. I'd rather move Brewer for cap space.

And as far as maintaining depth thats the whole point of getting cap space in the summer. Losing Brewer, KJ and the like is not losing depth. It's losing players that suck. Adding players to the current core is adding depth.

How about we keep our guys and give them a chance to step up?

Although Bogut and Chandler would be my choices.

I'd rather have Chuck Hayes on this team than Bobby Brown.

i mean could chuck hayes's game have really declined that much? that's a style that will last in the YMCA for another 2-3 decades.

I like Chandler on this team too (remember, Morey tried to sign him a few years back before he joined the Mavs the first time). He's a SoCal guy, so he'd presumably fit right in with the Harden-Ariza combo. He's a dog on defense and will help anchor that side of the court. Finally, he's a willing/selfless screener and will get his points off of rim runs and offensive rebounds.

If feasible, I think he'd be a great addition. Just gotta make sure we get one of the Suns' athletic trainers in the deal as well to keep him healthy the rest of the season!!

Sounds great but Morey has a philosophy (other than Howard) that you can win with small ball. Forget Hayes, you ain't winning a championship with Hayes taking up Harrell's minutes. Would like a Bogut trade, but wake up and realize no rival (Utah, Dallas, etc) is going to give us the final piece to a title.

Why not also resign Marcus Camby while you're at it.

There isn't an easy answer to this problem guys that doesn't completely sabotage next Summer's free agency, and even then the results might be mixed even after a trade.

The obvious answer to me here is to probe around for a steal on a young big you can invest in for the future (that fits the Rockets personnel/style of play) like Noel/Okafor, find someone in Europe/D-League you can snag, or stick it out with what you got. The likely scenario is to stick it out with what you got obv. Making a trade for a high dollar big like a Vucevic, Asik, or Chandler isn't the way to go because in 4 to 6 weeks they will likely be a backup anyway.

Between now and the end of January I really only see a handful of games that scare me (GS once, Memphis a few times, Clips, Tor), and the rest look like winnable even without Capela. Don't forget that the Rockets now are essentially playing small ball with Harrell at the 5, and that lineup has been our version of the death lineup anyways over the past few weeks that D'Antoni has been closing games out with. The Rockets played the Spurs last night who are an outlier big man lineup team who can also guard the 3. Essentially a nightmare matchup for the Rockets, and they SHOULD HAVE won that game.

I say stay the course, and focus on the death small ball lineup with Harrell at the 5, and try to kill teams by going small for a few weeks.

Ennis, Brown, Wiltjer, KJ. Likely Bown, but there are still spots that can be upgraded, this roster is far from finished.
