    How's that racist? I'm assuming newports is a brand of cigarettes no? So, if a guy comes in to purchase $140 in cigarettes from a gas station......one would assume to check an id with the card. Who the hell spends $140 at a gas station on cigs?

    Not really. I'm just taking a wild guess here, but I assume blacks commit more than half of these types of crimes in the USA. More typical than racist.

    As someone who used to work in a gas station, people's cigarette purchases are almost always in line with other people of the same race. I'm not sure why but it's true.
