You think the Rockets missing 20 minutes of Capela's production will lead to 9 straight losses and dropping below Blazers? If we go by on/off stats, the Rockets are actually better defensively when Capela is on the bench. In fact, as a whole, Capela has a negative overall +/-. Obviously, the stats do not tell the whole story, but this is complete overreaction.
I would say hell no to Dekker and Ariza would hurt a lot, so they'd have to give us more than just Noel for him.
LOL no way. Unless he's part of a package to get a legitimate star, then I hope the Rockets never trade Ariza.
Well, we have to first see how we fare w/o Capela. If we go on a losing streak, Morey has no other option but to pull the trigger on some kind of trade, because the whole goal of this season is to play well enough to be an attractive destination for the FAs in the off season. Guess what, if we slide to 5th or 6th seed because of Capela's absence, then it's all over.
This is exactly why Morey should have never let DMo get away. This exact scenario should have been foreseen.
If Capela is the difference maker between Rockets being above .500 or below .500 don't you think he will be playing a lot more than 20 minutes per game? For your information, Dekker and Capela have both averaged 21 minutes in their last 10 games.
A future first round pick or with the way Carlangelo feels about Noel two seconds and the rights to Llull
I actually agree with you that Capela has been meh lately, especially on defense. That's why I want to see how it plays out first, but if we do start to lose, then Morey better do something before it's too late, given the specific goal of this season. We can't afford another 40~45 win season.
Noel? Lopez? Stud center? This will cost us rotation players, and the only one I'd get rid of as of right now is Brewer. I'm not willing to permanently damage our chemistry for a temporary issue and a center controversy (I mean look at Os and Savage! ; ) Yes, we need to address it, but we don't need to replace Capela. Move Trez and Nene up. Replace Trez's energy minutes with your new addition.
I wonder if we actually have the assets to trade for Tyson Chandler or if we need to look a tier lower. Maybe former Rocket Tarik Black? It's not like the Lakers are going anywhere.
I didn't know DMo could run the pick and roll repeatedly and catch lob after lob after lob? When's the last time DMo blocked AD or had more than 2 rebounds in a game? Give it a rest, his post game would have been very welcome but outside of that he wasn't going to bring much else, and he certainly wouldn't be holding the paint down for us. Kosta Koufus could be had for a bag of chips I'd say and he'd fit the bill until Capela is ready to go again.
