Really? I thought he said we were out of it and then came back and said we were on the "back if we"? That seems pretty bad.
I'm a 99er, we never leave cause we're the most loyal Rockets fans on Earth. How do I even know you are a Rockets fan? Are you just posting on the Horns thread cause your team lost to San Diego? Oh boo hoo
http://www.chron.com/sports/cougars/article/Former-Texas-quarterback-Chris-Simms-Major-10799637.php Former Texas quarterback Chris Simms: Major Applewhite 'treated me like crap' Chris Simms, a former University of Texas quarterback and teammate of University of Houston head coach Major Applewhite, did not have amicable things to say about his former colleague on a CBS Sports Radio interviewwith Tiki Barber and Brandon Tierney.
http://247sports.com/Player/Marvin-Wilson-39194 I mean they've updated it quite a bit since we got Herman.
You should read the article If major was a punk to Chris when he was a freshman. No wonder he didn't live up to expectations Still Chris was way better than the recent quarterbacks we have now. Vince young was very supportive of colt
Ummm.. You probably meant Chance Mock. No, actually, you meant Colt McCoy because you want to write some stupid narrative. Yes, Colt was on campus as a redshirt freshmen. Good try on your false narrative. And even if Major was a punk to Simms, that shouldn't lead to Simms to playing like a scared Yankee punk.
Yes I meant McCoy. Vince being nice to McCoy isn't a narrative. Vince Young had a reputation of being a nice guy. Major doesn't have that rep. We beat Nick Saban's LSU with Chris Simms.
Scout reporting that we may get some much needed recruiting momentum this week. TE out of Oklahoma decommitted from Nebraska shortly after so could be the target. Edit: Toneil Carter (RB) just decommitted from Georgia. Best RB prospect from Texas, 7th in the nation. Would be a huge pickup if Herman can reel him in.
Herman will recruit very well. He was able to keep most of his support staff and they know what they are doing.
Applewhite aleads seemed like a gamer to me. Like you put Simms and Applewhite against each other in practice, Simms wins handily, but the team responded more to Major in games.
I wouldn't take that much stock into updated crystal ball predictions. Here are some quotes. He then adjusted it to: Who knows. You can't really evaluate a class until sighing day since kids change commitments all the time. Still, I don't think it's a very smart move for him to go to Texas over Ohio St just like it wouldn't have been a smart move for Little to go to Texas over Stanford. Fans need to be prepared for this to be a very weak class given how little Strong recruited during the season. Strong mostly finished with Mack's recruits in his very first few months and then started to do really well. It's just very hard to get kids when you have no relationship with them this late into the process. Strong left him with a very good redshirt freshman class. This was the redshirt list up to Texas Tech. I doubt any of these guys played in the last couple games of the season: WR Davion Curtis WR Reggie Hemphill-Mapps TE Peyton Aucoin OL Tope Imade OL J.P. Uriquidez OL Patrick Hudson DL Marcel Southall DL Chris Daniels DE Andrew Fitzgerald LB Demarco Boyd DB Chris Brown DB Eric Cuffee I mean I'm happy we got Herman but his team still finished 4th in the AAC west and the program he's inheriting is in the worst 3 year stretch in history without a lot of very talented players. Sure, there is probably a lot of raw potential but you don't see consistent play on the field. That's why Herman needs a good 1st year to show players that this is a good program that is going to win and not asking kids to take a leap of faith.
Simms got better at the end of his UT Career. He got a lot of heat, felt bad for him. As far as being overhyped, nobody compared to Garett Gilbert. That dude sank the program.
Interesting. I wonder if he saw something in Big 12 defenses that is exploitable with good TEs. He has seemed to emphasize recruiting TEs since he took the job.
Four-star RB Carter commits to Texas This is pretty impressive since there is no offensive coordinator or a designated run coordinator. We're still shaky on the RB position for next year but it adds some depth for the next few years. He'll join Sophmore Kyle Porter who had a so-so freshman season (206 yards) and Chris Warren III (366 yards) who gained a bunch of weight last spring and went down with an injury in game 4.
We also have Kirk Johnson but kid hasn't been able to stay healthy. He maybe the best back on the roster though. But this is a big pickup, looks smoother than Warren and Porter. Him enrolling early is pretty big too.
