We are good - surprisingly good. Rockets defy expectations. How can continue to improve to be legit?

Guys like Clint, Dekker, Harrez still have a lot of room to improve. I have high hopes for Dekker. If he can somehow turn into a nice role player that cannot be stopped easily alongside with Harden and/or Gordon, we will be even scarier.

In terms of a trade, typically we have to give up value in exchange for value. It's very hard to see we can improve substantially through a trade.

I'd say someone like Ibaka although he isn't a true 7 footer.

The only thing I was thinking we can realistically be doing is to widen the big rotation.
Now that the D-mo thing is a no go, Lopes will be a great fit for Dantoni's system, so will Tyson Chandler. Each will answer a different need but they both can be great for us.
Defense just needs to play like it has for the past month and pretty much everything will be just great if we manage to continue to shoot and play like we do in December so far.
Harden 3 point % will probably get better further on actually.

I don't think we can even make a brook Lopez trade work fk a financially without sending out key rotation pieces.

I'd say signing Ibaka in the offseason would be the thing to take us to the next level. And if they could do that & somehow keep Ryan Anderson, that would be crazy.
    Harden
    Gordon
    Ariza
    Anderson
    Ibaka
That's a lot of shooting in that line up!

I see Morey taking on a contract in exchange for a pick later this season. Now that the rockets don't have DMo, we have room to absorb someone else's problem - especially since Harrell has been pretty much a plus off the bench so far. Don't need to send anyone out unless Morey gets an offer he can't refuse

I want to see Patrick Beverly join the party and climb his way up that 3 point attempts list.

And McDaniels is still better than Brewer at everything.

Weve just got to stay healthy and keep improving that chemistry. We can hope that over time James becomes even more comfortable with his role and can reduce the TO's. Dekker and Harrell have to become more consistent if we are going to rely on them in the postseason.

Our team's vets are mostly in that sweet spot right now of 27-29. Ariza and Nene are older and Clint and Dekker are younger. We need the younger guys to step up and continue to work and get better.

I can see a move for another combo vet 3/4 with athletisicm kind of like dekker, but maybe a bit more able to guard bigger players. I know the idea of Rudy gay has been thrown around alot and a player like Gay, Wilson Chandler would be a great fit on paper given that we have some faith in Nene and Clint.

So far in our biggest games our best 5 has been with ryan at the 5. I cant see us gettting a player that would crack that spot so i think a backup wing/forward is what we should be aiming for ( given health )

Brewer coming out of his slump would be a nice addition... but the odds of that are low. I dont have much hope for KJ , and Wiltjer is a year away.

I'm VERY high on our 2016 draft picks being contributors as early as next year... in particular Onuaku. This guy looked just awful in the summer league and preseason and the speed of the game was just way too fast. I think with a year in the dleague he'll catch up on speed and physically he is an NBA body. He's got real defensive talent and ability on the boards and if he can learn to apply his passing game to D'antoni's system he'll be acceptable offensively. I think he takes over for Nene next year with potential to be like a prime Nene.

Qi has the most potential of anyone on the roster not named harden, but he is obviously the furthest from it. His size is incredible and while you want him to add weight, you don't want too much, and you definitely don't want too much too quickly. Skills out the wazoo and physical tools. If he can up his athleticism and strength just a little bit he can be above the minimum threshold.

Dantoni seems to really want to play skills guys. He's given Dekker loads of minutes for basically a rookie. Harrel he's given a bunch to too.

The Morey plan, and really all GM's plan is to attain multiple stars. You can develop or trade or sign them. Signing looks pretty much out and frankly would cost too much of our current rotation. Developing is best but generally you have to have high picks... but Morey did something he doesnt always do in the last draft. He went for huge upside. True home-run capable picks. I think Onuaku and Qi could be playing the 4 and 5 backup positions as early as next year.

Every team has room to improve.

I would say when the three is not falling we need to run plays at the rim or mid range game needs to be activated.

Both Dekker and Harrell are often fouled hard around the paint without getting the foul calls. I see Dekker get his hard on what should be And1 layups/dunks but no call.. Is it a rookie officiating thing? Harrell gets fouled quite often as well.

I meant a backup center, or someone that can be there, preferably one with 3pt range.

If Portland blows up, than Miles Leonard......or someone like him who can play the 5 and stretch it out....a contrast to Capela.

Harrell has shown he can hit that mid ranger. If he could just get his 3t shooting to around 34% that would be huge for this team. Other than that, I'm also very high on the young guys. I think Wiltjer can be a second Ryno. Dekker and Harrell should continue to improve defensively through the season and hopefully be able to create the odd shot here and there.

Other than that, I'd love an Ibaka or a Milsap.

Avoid ruining our chemistry with a knee jerk trade.

Rockets need another scoring option that can create his own shot.

Also, I would like to see morey trade for Aaron Gordon. He's a PF/C who is super athletic.

He can be like a poor man's version of amare stoudemire in this offense.

Dekker can't be most improved if he's still considered a rookie :)
